1) Thats not how free transfers work, the buying club doesn't just pay exactly what thy would've paid the selling club to the player, otherwise they'd just sort the deal a year earlier with the selling club and pay exactly the same but get the player for an extra year. Usually it's a tasty signing bonus of c. £20-40m and inflated wages for the contract duration, similar to Ramsay being on £400k a week at Juve, they didn't pay him £60m up front because "that's what they would've paid Woolwich".
2) Him leaving for free to a PL rival next summer is the absolute worst case scenario for us as a club. Kane may be a legend but he is 1 player, the club is always bigger than any player, and will survive for as long as people continue to support it. I wish Kane the very best for the remainder of his career wherever that may be, but not at the expense of our future wellbeing as a club, however much I may dislike Levy and ENIC's ownership of it.
