Bewildering set of circumstances… We scored from a set piece and a dart from Emerson

Brentford have a gifted penalty and a sitter, they look outnumbered.

Level with no contribution from our front 3 isn’t bad.

4 first half goals looks like MLS :ange-lol:

Time for big Ange to earn his money. Some positives but we're not creating enough and they have so many behind the ball. We need to beat the man more on the outside, I think sonny only did it once and deki keeps coming inside. Need to get the ball to Richy somehow but hopefully more space 2nd half.
Not creating enough?

We've scored twice against a team that is putting 10 men behind the ball.

Udogie and Emerson looked really good.

Maddison is trying to create everything, and is doing brilliantly, while Son and Kulusevski are not suited at all to the system.

VDV has looked good, the deflection was unlucky.

Sanchez is doing as instructed, so him bombing forward and leaving space behind is a high-risk, high-reward strategy that I can't blame him for. His tackles and ball-playing have been very good.

I'm prepared to give a lot of time to Vicario.
Emerson been caught loads

Clear contact, but the Brentford player extends his leg beyond the ball looking for the contact, IMO.

You've seen them given, but that's not one you HAVE to give.

If given live, fine if VAR doesn’t overturn.

But waiting all that time to basically “find” the penalty loses all of what VAR was supposed to be. It’s a ridiculous decision if you remember the spirit of what VAR was for.

He’s not played badly but Skippy’s not had much to do as Brentford have gone down the flanks. Wonder if one option is to move Kulu inside, where he can try to help unlock Brentford, and bring Solomon or Porro in on the right flank.
