Match Brentford fc vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR/ Sun 13th 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Really wish we would have taken more shots when we got around the top of the box like Emerson did for his goal. Several times Kulusevski and Son were in a decent position to curl one and slowed play down instead.

To add to that, if we’re playing this front three with Richy in the middle, I think it’s vital to take those shots so Richy can get on the end of possible deflections or keeper saves. It seems like that’s where he thrives.

Never known Ange to just use three subs. It may have happened, but if it did I don't remember it.

So what does this say about the bench?

Don't know much about GLC but a few on here seem to rate him. Should he have got on. Any other changes you guys think could and should have been made ?

Think the use of only 3 subs might be a message to Levy about squad depth

His ability. Watch quite some Serie A and he was often good and also positively spoken about. I also like his calm and the ball and that he looks to be a bit of a mad man. Love it.
Speaking as an Italian here .... in the last two years people here gradually started to like him and I'd say, at least where I live, most people will rate him as stronger than Donnarumma (talking about actual fans, not people who only watch the national team).

I'm not sold on Richarlison, but I don't blame him for the lack of output today. He did what the system asks of him, he got positioned in such a way as to occupy two defenders. But nothing much came in from the corners and not many positive runs into the box. Brentford stayed deep and kept their shape. Credit to them and a point of concern for Spurs they couldn't open them up.

The penalty was absolute bullshit.

We should have won 2-1.

Enjoyed the game. Was interesting seeing how all the new pieces fitted together. Plenty of encouraging showings from Madders, Biss, Udogie and others. It’s so very early in the Ange era that it would be crazy to be too critical. I am still worried though about Kulu and his lack of pace - really makes him seem very one-dimensional. Not much to shout about with Richi either but it does take time for a forward line to find itself. Spirit seemed to be there and overall a positive day’s play.

Definitely some positives to take, no question.

Personally, it was a joy to see Bissouma turn in a performance like that. Like most of us were I suspect, I was chuffed to bits when we bought him knowing what he could bring to a midfield role. Then to see him become a shadow of himself because of Conte’s nonsense, was a real hard watch. Accept he had some injuries last season but we would never have seen Biss play like he did today under Conte‘s methods. Just wouldn’t have happened.

Good, we can build on that. Loads of positives; style of play, Biss, Destiny, Maddison. Very encouraged by how much better defence was in the second half, a bit more time together and I think we’ll be ok.

Worried about all the front 3, but it’s one game against tricky opposition. Would still like to see us strengthen here before the window shuts. Worst thing was I went for 2-2 in the prediction league than changed it to 2-3 this morning. Such a fan girl!

Enjoyed the calm presence of Ange. His handling of the Romero situation and his complete disinterest in the drama with the other coaches was impressive. Not the actions of a green manager overwhelmed by his first game in the prem. I was entertained.

Much better on the eye than last year. Bissouma, Udogie, Royal all excellent. Maddison good first half, but dipped in second half. CH had little to do, but with Romero and VDV we look solid, Sanchez decent today, but we all know not to be relied on so another quality CH required.
That's the good bits, the rest not so good. Front three very poor, neither Son or Kulu contributed much from the wings, which in turn did not help Richardson, but he was poor enough as well and imo will never be good enough for that role at Spurs. Skipp poor also, offered little going forward.
Subs made little impact, Peresic poor enough and Sarr never going to be the player to open up defences.
Keeper a bit of a worry, few rash decisions , but time will tell

Richard Arlison Richard Arlison you wont take vlahovic over richie based on this

I won’t spend 60m on any striker to just run off the ball all day.

The striker in this system is an unforgiving role.

Thing is, most fans probably just want to take out their frustrations at losing Kane on Richy.

The only type of striker that could have done more is one that is faster and able to create for themselves with a dribble
