Right.

So:

Ange can be into the idea of signing Johnson.

And

The leak of it being his “top target” could be club PR to manage the fans after the sale of Kane.

They can both be true.

I’d ask if you agree but you are going to find a way to disagree anyway just to be a troll and then I’m putting you back on ignore.

I was talking about what you said about 'signing of convenience' not that the club asked Ali to put it out there to placate the fans.

I’ve accepted it.

I’m open minded to what he can do for us.

It’s also not that I’m saying Ange isn’t on board. Ange himself says no player comes in he doesn’t want.

I believe him.

The “top target” leak just stinks of PR to manage the fans.

You can’t tell me there was a single Spurs fan that would have been ok with Kane being sold and the only forward recruits being Solomon and Johnson.

Tough shit tbh (myself included).......... If we sign Johnson that will mean by one means or another we've done £100m (net) after the Kane money.

Not that I think the club would even bother playing such superficial PR games.

You're talking about an ownership that had a zero purchase summer and didn't see fit to appologise; so why on earth would they deem it necessary to try and gaslight the fans after splashing 100m (n) and done similar the season before???

It's not that deep, mate.

Ali Gold is obviously the go to for Spurs to release info unofficially, if starts outing important targets/information that the club doesn't want released, he'd quickly find himself frozen out.

He said he got a shitty email from them earlier in the summer about him criticising the club..... He did a podcast laughing it off.... That ought to illustrate that he's not exclusively beholden to the club.

People go so overboard with this shit.

25-Man Squad: 8 HG players + 17 Internationals. U-21s "exempt".

HG (Home Grown): Forster, Austin, Davies, Tanganga, Skipp, Maddison, Spence = 7.

Internationals: Vicario, Romero, van de Ven, Porro, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Son, Richarlison, Royal, Lo Celso, Perisic, Solomon, Bentancur, Sanchez, Højbjerg, Ndombele = 16.

U-21s: Sarr, Udogie, Scarlett, Veliz, White, Phillips = 6.

INJURED: Bryan Gil, Sessegnon (HG), Whiteman (HG) = 3.

Alternates/Outgoing: Lloris (INT), Dier (INT), Reguilón (INT) = 3.

*** Adding an INJURED Sessegnon, or an Over-21 player like Brooklyn Lyons-Foster to our HG list would give us an additional International squad spot./?

It could be that Ange is happy with Davies as 4th choice CB.

That's the only rationale for selling Sanchez.

Romero (NEW) + VDV (Davies)

I assume the club have high hopes for Phillips/Dorrington, maybe one of them will step in next season so we don't want to block their path.

Question is, who is the new CB if not Tosin? Isn't Schuurs slow? Doesn't seem suited to a high line.

I'm resigned to Johnson. 30m + Sanchez + add ons. Gives us good energy at least and something different on the right. Don't see him displacing Kulu in a hurry though.

Son and Rich at 9 it is then!
