Part of the problem - because until he was sacked in February this year, Lloris, Dier, Sanchez, Højbjerg were seen as key-players in his 3-CB/CM formation. In comes Angelos and all 4 are surplus to requirements. Dier went from being a set starter in Conte's 3-CB formation to not even being in Angelos match squad.
Ndombele is an entire different case, though. Considering his transfer fee he's the biggest flop ever in Spurs' history. His attitude stinks. And he may have polluted the dressing room as well. I really hope there is a Saudi club that are silly enough to take the risk.
But, yes, L & L always wanting top money for their players could have sold off some of these players (f.ex., Reguilon, Lo Celso & Ndombele) who were neither in the plans for Jose nor Conte if they had demanded "reasonable" fees.

No, it's its what I expect to happen based on the 'strength' of our squad.
I hope we won the league but forget this club isn't about aiming for the stars, it's settling for the bare minimum.
Why stop there, you should have also said that Maddison will put in a transfer request in Jan, Bissouma will move to Saudi, we'll re-sign Winks and give Dier a new contract extension, oh and we'll just do enough to escape relegation - Ange gets sacked and replaced by Robbie Williams.

We'll drop points today, Burnley will be well up for it, cross our fingers durng international break hoping key players don't pick up injuries, should beat Sheff U at home but then it's Woolwich and Liverpool. Yeah, nah, I think both games could get really messy.
The season will trundle on, some good games and performances, some bad, we'll get to Jan and there will be talk of Don Levy when he manages to sign a Bayern or PSG reject on loan at the 11th hour, after shifting out more deadwood on loans with no obligations, we'll play a weakened team in the FA cup and go out before the end of Feb, there will be some talk of making a Top 4 push but alas, lack of depth kills us and we scrape into the EL or ECL on the last day and ENIC lovers and Levy Enthusiasts hails this as a successful season.
But we've moved even further behind our rivals and now there are rumblings that players like Romero and Bissouma want CL football and here we go again.
Nothing will change until Levy and ENIC fuck off.

Maybe Ange was given the choice of focusing on Johnson or a 3rd CB as that’s what the budget allowed.
In which case, I’m better with it as Ange at least chose his own priority.
It’s BS that would be the choice but that’s reality in this club under these owners. And at least it would have been his choice.

The issue with this window for me is strength in depth at CB.
We could win today but it wouldn’t reassure me about the season.

We couldn’t shift the defenders out or at least for the minimum price Levy wanted and we couldn’t get what we may have wanted….I know we all have given up on Sanchez but there is a defender in there somewhere that we paid 42m for…if anyone can bring that defender back to life and restore confidence it’s fucking Ange
and look who he and all the players have had to work with since Poch…Nuno, Mourinho and Conte…the last two would absolutely destroy anybody’s belief…I know that but he has been charged there.

I think we should have done both. We are not a poor club.
But Johnson absolutely is an excellent signing.
It’s not an either/or case fella, or it shouldn’t be.
Tough to rate the window now since its a huge gamble. If Richarlison can fill at least one of Kanes shoes and we are blessed from injuries, its been a very solid window. If however Sons poor form continues and Richarlison keep misfiring and goes into sulk-mode, while VdV or Romero becomes unavailable, it drops pretty fast.
