Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Trying to keep my son's expectations in check. I think this is the problem with all the hype we've been getting so far - he's almost expecting a win, despite the historical record suggesting it's incredibly unlikely. At the same time, I don't want to dampen his excitement, because that's what the NLD is all about.

I'm also a hypocrite because I know that come kick-off I'll also be convincing myself that it's a 50/50 game and believing in gambler's fallacy.

Ah well.

Anyone else shitting it?

Just turn up and have a fucking go that's all I ask, If we play well and get outclassed or done over by a bent ref I can take that, just don't do the usual and go there and get your belly tickled.
I think it’s just because this is the first proper test we’ve had this season. We’ve done well so far but no one really knows if that’s just because we’ve been lucky, the teams we played were shit or if it’s because we’re actually a good team. Right now it’s a bit like Schrodinger’s cat, we’re both Top 4 material and not. The reason I’m feeling nervous for today is because I think it’s the day we get the answer.

Woolwich, as much as I don’t like to admit it, are a good side. Along with City and Liverpool, this is going to be one of our toughest games of the season and if we get absolutely bent over this game, it’ll bring some people back down to the ground.

As you’ve said, I’ll be happy, win, lose or draw if we go out, execute Angeball and give a good showing of ourselves. The pressure really is all on Woolwich, they’re a settled side, they’re in good form and every man and his dog outside of Spurs fully expects them to win.

Why should we? We’ve nothing to lose new team, new manager it’s them that’s to get a result in relevance to the “project” and star players hopefully not but they’re the team that should win and win easily.

The arrogance with which Merson spouts his, 'see what happens if you attack us!' line is something I've heard echoed this week from gooners I know. If you've watched those goals they scored against PSV you'll observe the following:
1. Weak defending with too much backing off, followed by poor keeping and a bit of luck
2. A weakly struck but accurate shot from outside the box which shouldn't really go in
3. A good goal that has nothing to do with whether you 'attack' Woolwich. However, suspect closing down as well.
4. Another weakly struck but accurate shot that the keeper should have done better with. Again, nothing to do with PSV being overly attacking.

I can't see them scoring these goals against us... maybe one, but 4 like this? Must be having a laugh.

This narrative is nonsense and they've got themselves believing that Spurs will just be 'playing into their hands'. How many teams have thought they could exploit Ange's aggressive tactics only to be put to the sword? Maybe it's too early, but the arrogance by which our threat is dismissed is pathetic.
That sky job just about keeps merson sober.

Turn up. Kick the doors off on our way in. No respect to anyone. Ask everyone they see 'Are you thd fucking rapist?'

Just fucking own everything from the coach pulling in to the coach pulling out.

Oh and to the scum in here

FUCK OFF YOU RAPIST SUPPORTING CUNTS. Cant put that in mania can ya. Dickheads

Trying to keep my son's expectations in check.

No, no, no, let them go, let them go and enjoy it. My role is not to burst people's bubbles. Let them get excited, let them get ahead of themselves. That's the beauty of being a supporter. They go through enough pain mate, you want to let them enjoy it. If they think we're going to be world beaters then great, that's up to us to match that expectation. Our supporters deserve to have some happiness and enjoy it any way they want to.” - Ange Postecoglou, 2023

My lad is lumping on Bet365 today.
Son to score anytime and draw/Spurs win. 5/1
I have told him to save his money as 5/1 doesn’t seem overly generous, but he’s adamant.
Hope he’s right. A draw/win would make it a pretty good Sunday.

4pm will be easier to deal with than now.

Just hope that when we need to dig into the well that one or two of our players are able to do so.. You know Rice can and will do it

Absolutel must for Johnson to start. No bigger game to be given the opportunity to annouce your arrival. Postecoglou must realise that.

Let's give this lot a bloody nosr at the very least.

Quick question.... working out where to watch this today.... I'm loathe to stay local, as anywhere near me will be full of Gooners,
But if I try watching it at home, I may as well expect my divorce papers to come through the post tomorrow...

So, is anyone thinking of watching it IN Tottenham?
Excuse my naivety...

But apart from the CL SF away at Ajax, I've never watched a Spurs away game IN Tottenham or near the ground...
Is it worth the bus ride, or will it be a ghost town on a non-home game matchday??

I'm thinking the Brickies or Bell & Hare/No.8 will be pretty full of Spurs!!!

Any suggestions???
Loads of us (NW Spurs) all watching the game in the 7 Oaks pub in Manchester, the guv is a Yid. 👍
