Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m all about Big Ange. I do think he’s shown enough to be the right man for the long term. I’d even personally right this season off. Reality is he too stubborn at the moment to even tweak in game tactics. He better learn quick. Because with better game management we don’t lose to wolves or villa and we at least draw tonight. We have enough players back where injuries can’t be the excuse moving forward.

If we lose Sunday we could drop to 9th. The fans may have patience but does Levy?
I like the bloke, but we can't keep losing games, apparently we have created some sort of record, taking the lead in fives games and not winning any.
Embarrassing football club, no wonder the media doesn't rate us.
It's no good Levy sacking him, because who else would do it

It’s like some posters missed the way we played in the first 10 games, and then have totally failed to notice that key personnel are missing!!

The injuries have highlighted the lack of squad depth, together with the lack of a clinical finisher.

We created countless chances, but failed to put them away and that bit us on the bum by gifting them two goals.

Talk of ejecting Ange is absolute lunacy!

Thing is our 'chances' didn't even fall to our designated striker. It was more the finishing of the others that were lacking in this game and the other games that we lost tbh.

I think a player that can get goals from the wing and also create chances is what we need more than a lethal finisher.

Yeah, people are just projecting, saying obvious shit that offers 0 context, you'd think that we'd have a full strength team the way people are going on.

I find the idea that Ange hasn't tried to change it quite funny when the only time he has dramatically changed it was against Wolves when we started Dier and Hojbjerg and we lost and didn't play anywhere near to our capabilities. The other 3 times were totally on the players.

I don't know what people suggest he do though, us not putting teams to bed isn't a management issue, it's a player issue.

Yep, mark Son out of the game or limit his supply and we’re screwed it seems.

Everyone is pointing out out problems but no one is offering solutions which speaks volumes...

I do wonder if his insistence in playing Kulusevski on the right will be a blind spot, as it was an issue even earlier in the season when we just got past the line in some of our wins and his play on the right (cutting in time and again without trying to cross the ball) was rather predictable. Johnson on the left is also a question mark but I know it's early days and he needs time to adjust; the pressure builds, however, with each successive defeat.

I would have liked to have seen Kulu in the middle, with Gio and PEH/Bissouma, and Gil, Sonny and Johnson up top. What's done is done, so it's on to Newcastle.

Arteta had a spell in his first full season where in his opening 16 games, he lost 8... Which included 7 games in a row without a win (5 losses, 2 draws)

In fact, between game week 3 and 14 of that season, they won just 2 games. Against Sheffield United who got relegated and Man Utd.

He ended up finishing 8th that year. They stuck with him. The following year he started moulding his team. Got rid of players who clearly couldn't play the way he wanted or bad influences (Luiz, William, Auba) and brought in players like White and Odegaard who could. Finished 5th that year after bottling the top four but progress was made.

Fast forward to the next season. Continued to get rid of players who didn't fit and once again built on it. Jesus, Zinchenko, Trossard all come in and it clicks.

Yes, Arteta was backed heavily in the window. Something we know is unlikely here to the same extent. But they stuck with him because they saw what he was wanting to build.

We need to do the same. We really do. We can see what he is trying to do. With players in the squad below par. We're not getting the results right now. But they'll come. That's football.

What's imperative is that we back the guy.

kind of prefer the klopp and Pep comparisons who both were wobbly in their first season because they didn't have the players in their respective system instead of the Cunt Comparison

H
This guy has to change the fragile mentality we have had around the club for a long time . This is not a quick fix and he needs complete backing from the board .

Given the right tools , I’m sure he is the right man for us .
.
We mustn’t let this opportunity slip and the powers that be now need to step up , big time

COYS
He needs help from the board, but they have fostered fragile, weak , losing culture that has existed for so long.
It's going to be a difficult road, one that may never be achieved.

Deki has played exactly the same whole season.
If he keeps starting 100% games then it gives you indication Ange is fully happy with him.

Unless you'd like to suggest that Ange is trying to lose games :D .

Also you left out Son very comfortably. Player who in past 5 games has scored from one wonderful counterattack but has been absolute nothing in 4 full games.
Deki played midfield the last two games where he had his best performances, unfortunately we were a bit unbalanced there with Bissouma being isolated so he put in Hojbjerg to give us some control like it did in the second half against city.

I actually thought Son was alright last night, just no one being able to find his runs. He's the best finisher in the league so it isn't surprising he'll start most games but unfortunately he struggles against low blocks which is probably why he was moved to the left later on in the second half. I actually think Richy is better suited against those teams, he can use his movement to create space for everyone else which is one of the ways you break down a low block but he's being eased back in currently.

I only used Arteta because of the fans reaction to him and melting towards him. "Arteta out" etc. Mixed in with the fact there seems to be a Spurs section that seem to praise Woolwich on a weekly basis.

Klopp and Pep pretty much always had support from their fans from what I remember.

Totally fair

I'd like to see Kulu in the middle and Richarlison just needs to play on the left going forward with Johnson back on the right

He’s not going anywhere. The club will stick with him.

As you say, it’s all down to backing. We need, at a minimum, 4 players. A wide man that can actually score and and full on 9. Then another CB and versatile 10/8.

I can promise you its over. We’ve been here time and time again. The hope… the glaring signs. And those thinking Levy will back him when it matters are dreaming. A very sick nightmare this club has become. Lose to newcastle and its 1 point from 6 games. Weve sacked managers for less. He just seems a bit out of depth recently. Playing pretty football isnt enough in this league and we will get punished like this all season.

Im sorry to say this. I like the man. But we all know whats coming.
Not sure he's 'out of his depth'

I think we have a fantastic first team who will beat anyone on their day, the problem is we have no depth.

When you're bringing a player like Skipp on, then you know your squad has issues.
