It's just managed debt, we loaned about £900m from the banks for the stadium build to be paid back over 23 years.

They're low interest loans as well so we hardly pay anything on top, doesn't mean we can't spend money, it just means that our revenue isn't tied up in paying back the loan.

Worth pointing out that a lot (most?) of the other 'big debt' clubs are in debt over liabilities (e.g. transfer costs and wages), not assets.

*I'm calling our stadium an asset - since it makes a shit-ton of money (thanks Beyonce!)

I think we're in one of the best positions in world football, financially. Two or three world-class players and we'll be in one of the best positions in world football, full stop!

If you own a house which has a mortgage on it and you're in debt of £300k to the bank for example, it doesn't mean you're broke
But we are the exception - we live in a massive house far more than the mortgage, others don’t.

Actually think the debt point is less relevant than profit / loss. BHA massive debt that’s unlikely to be ever paid back unless sold, yet they are profitable year on year. Chelsea huge losses, completely unsustainable

Sarr is HG next season too possibly

For PL only

I'm unsure whether he meets the UEFA definition (see below) and might well be Overseas Trained.

A "club-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or of 36 months. In the context of this paragraph, the season immediately preceding a player’s 15th birthday may be counted if his birthday is after the last match of the relevant national championship but before or on 30 June (winter championships) or 31 December (summer championships), and the season immediately following his 21st birthday may be counted if his birthday is on or after 1 July (winter championships) or 1 January (summer championships) but before the first match of the relevant national championship.

An "association-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which the player turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or of 36 months.

Reminder of this:

Also on Morato…

From 16 months ago. Transferlab (whoever they are) thought the biggest U23 prospects in Portugal were:
Edwards
Inacio
Porro
Morato
Enzo Fernandez

We’ve got one of them. Another went for 120m. Edwards were familiar with… and linked now with Morato.
Seems we do a decent amount of scouting of young talent in Portugal.

I don’t get the we didn’t respect democracy argument ref Brexit . Last election I didn’t vote Tory and I fully expect the opposition parties to challenge them at every opportunity on policies they don’t agree with , irrespective of if they were in the manifesto or not .
PMQs is a circus in many ways but it defines our combative democracy . If you do not agree with something you fight it , that is the heartbeat of our democracy. It was a terrible idea terribly executed and has not been as strongly challenged as it should have been ,
