I don’t get the hate about Gallagher apart from the Chelsea thing. He’s better than Hojbjerg and Skipp. I could imagine his game going to another level in our system. He’s a fit boy who doesn’t get injured much,home grown and has shown at palace that he has a creative side to his game.
I still don’t believe we will sign him.

1. 18 months left on Gallagher's contract, and shows no sign of signing another.

2 I've seen nobody else linked to Gallagher which surprises me - but maybe nobody else has money or perhaps more likely Gallagher only wants to join a top 6 club such as Spurs, ruling out potential bidders such as Palace.

3 Chelsea need to sell for FFP reasons - and Gallagher as club trained means 100% of fee counts as FFP profit.

Perhaps I don't rate Gallagher as highly as you but to me he does NOT look a £50m player (at least yet) so anything like £35m/£40m is probably about right, although might be 'toppy'.

As unlikely as we may think, he probably felt Emerson was a better alternative to Sanchez.

Tbh both fucking turd but at least we got some cash in for Sanchez
 
The main reason I want us to get Gallagher is spite. How hilarious would it be for Chelsea to sell us their captain against the wishes of Pochettino? It’s so delicious that I barely care about the football side of things!
