Had they failed to agree a deal and someone else nipped in then fair enough, but they didn't, they agreed a fee, and almost immediately Bayern came in to trump it, they would have done exactly the same if we'd agreed a deal last week..
But also very possible Bayern only decided to go for him in the last few days while we dithered. I think it's most likely we just took too long, like we did with Diaz, Grealish etc
