Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Good question.

I haven’t seen Vermeeren so can’t comment other than he’s played CL football so has more experience than the other 2.

Hackney might be just above Wharton for most and I think he’s older. I can’t put anything specific on it other than he runs like an Ange player and is the more attacking of the 2 BUT

for me Wharton is ahead of Hackney. Watched him a few times and he’s got England captain vibes. He’s the sort of kid that would have been on Fergies UTD radar back in the day.

None of the 3 look like bad options though if there was a chance to get a deal done

Wharton is obviously a talented player and a lot of desirable stuff when he is on the ball. There is just that ONE thing that concerns me. He is slow off the line. Not a good fit for Ange and also the main reason why someone like PEH has to go. This is probably not the era of Huddlestone.

Hackney would be my choice, despite him being a couple years older than Wharton, or at least I would make sure he had been scouted thoroughly. Unlike yesterday he usually operates in the 6/8 area, being the main outlet creating from deep. He has got a decent first touch and nice pass in his locker. The question I would have about him would be lung capacity, cos Middlesbrough do tend to have intervals where they comfortably hold their lines.

I have not watched a lot of Antwerp so I do not have a strong opinion about Vermeeren. All I can say is he has never stood out to me.

Whilst Wharton and Hackney are probably better ball players, I would still go for Gallagher if a deal could be done for around £35m. Maybe even £40m at a stretch. Just think he suits our style a lot better (but not as a 6)

Fair dos. Crappy moves on both sides, all very unnecessary and nobody comes out of it looking good...myself included.

Oh well, we're an emotional bunch and at the end of the day, I wanna believe we all want Spurs to succeed and win trophies. Well, I hope we do cause that'd be tragic to hope the club fails just to prove a point.

Now let's go win that friggin league and the glorious FA Cup, we can all make peace during the parade.
No one comes out of the vendetta shenanigans with any dignity, no matter how hard they try to paint it that way, and that goes for both 'sides.'

It's true we have an overly emotional bunch, that's what is played on. It's then perpetuated as each side gets their digs in, depending on which way the wind blows. We're all guilty of it, to greater or lesser extents, but there are those who take it to the extreme.

It's notable just how balanced the conversation on here is when we are doing well and certain posters are missing. We still have arguments but, on the whole, they're respectful, engaging and, more often than not, fun.

It's when we have occasions like last night, or when we don't play at peak, or a player has a drop in form, that we see these posters reappear. Then the boards become quite nasty and unpleasant to read. It's then that the personal attacks escalate.

Neither 'side' is innocent when that occurs, but it's telling that it only really happens when a certain cadre reappear.

We could win the quadruple and it wouldn't change a thing, the dislike some posters in here have for each other is too deeply ingrained.

Strange how Wharton has been nowhere near England youth teams till he started playing for Blackburn.
Or maybe that’s the reason, he plays for Blackburn. Watching him on youtube(cannot judge him purely on that)..but he looks a class player. Very good all round , can tackle and pass, predominantly left foot but does use the right.
We have had a few dealings with Blackburn recently. Markanday, Philips, Tom Bloxham. Might stand us in good stead if we try to sign him.
Yeah I don't know much about him as a youth player, maybe he always had the talent but was underdeveloped physically and as soon as he caught up he was just ready.

He really does look a good though.

Hopefully the dealing with Blackburn does help us. Did we not upset them a bit with the Phillips deal though? For some reason I seem to think we might have pissed them off.

Probably pissed off most clubs by now

I’m excited that we’ve signed this kid and got one over BM. He’s obviously got great defensive stats and he’s quick, but his progressive passing and dribbling stats leave a little to be desired. Maybe this can be attributed to playing for a poor Genoa side with awful possession stats? Either way I trust Ange and our scouting/analytics that they’ve got it right. Can’t wait to see him out in our colors and again I’m delighted to be fucking over (and possibly even selling Dier to) Bayern Munich in the process.
It's hard to transpose a player's statistics for one club, onto another that plays in a completely different manner. We don't know whether the movement of forward players in Genoa is on a par with our own. Do their midfield drop to receive the ball in pockets, in the same way the likes of Bentancur, Maddison and Bissouma do? If I understand it correctly, a progressive pass is a forward pass, it doesn't have to be a line breaker, so it's feasible that those stats will significantly improve with us.

It will be interesting to see whether this is the case. I suspect it will, else why would we have pursued him?

Why would his dribbling stats worry anyone? Passing is a piece of piss for a centre back. Most of the time even when pressed players are 5 yards away. We have got a defender who wants to defend and puts his head in where it hurts. He uses his body brilliantly for a 21 year old. He covers the ground well too. What we have with Dragusin,Romero and Micky are three guys who will take a pride in defending and hate to lose a goal. You add in the beast that is Vicario and Porro and I see winners that cheer a last ditch tackle or clearance like a goal. Udogie for me still needs to add that to his game but is still a top player. We are building a really solid squad just. By the start of next season we will be in a much better position to actually challenge for the league.

I get that and I appreciate more money should me a better FC. That said, Football is supposed to come first. But this hasnt been the case with us. It's been Real Easte first and Football second. Please explain why Woolwich has done nothing major for many seasons, yet they are able to compete in the transfer market.
Could it be that we are in the league with the stiffest competition for success, not to mention City who have found a cheatcode.
You don't seem to measure how much money weve made how much value the club has gained, and compare it to gains on the field. We are not as good on the field as we are in the business department. That is all because of the greed of a certain Daniel Levy who's Empire is growing faster than the growth of his Football Team.
The one thing that our publicly listed accounts show year on year is that our ownership has not withdrawn funds from the club. Their ENIC empire may be growing and it may be faster than the football club but it isn't with funds from the club.

Well, know that I respect you, Sir.

And that I admire how well you are using the internet considering you were raised in an age where people wrote things on cave walls using their own faeces.
