Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Do you remember when everyone had a meltdown over this Tweet by Ornstein:

The irony is that we are the biggest spenders so far this month, no-one envisaged that at the time did they 😆

Ornstein is a Gooner cunt and to be perfectly honest I don’t respect his reporting for us at all. He is a weird case where he’s a respected reporter and is good when he confirms something, but his general connection to our specific club is very low. I’m sure he’s great for Woolwich but that means nothing for us

He was right though in hindsight

Out of interest, in what way have Brentford stood by him?

They're not going to sack him. That would be utter madness. He's a valuable asset that would cause them to lose so much more than they'd gain by sacking him. (large fee or goals)
He's been suspended from all aspects of football, so it's not like they have played him and supported him publically.
Brentford have done no more than they could, which is to carry on paying their employee and wait until a) he's no longer suspended and b) the window is open to decide what to do with him.

Going out on a limb, they may even have benefitted from this as his character may have reduced interest in him, making him easier for them to keep a hold of.

Actually you're wrong.

Brentford DID publicly go to bat for him; Franke in particular.......

"He's been suspended from all aspects of football"

This isn't true either.... Thanks to Brentford going to bat for him he's been allowed to train with them since the begining of this season.

Johan Lange wants to bring Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa to North London, Tottenham News has been told.

Although he is still just 18 years old, Nusa is already making waves in European football.

After making just 13 first-team appearances for Norwegian outfit Stabaek, Nusa was snapped up by Jupiler Pro League side Club Brugge.

He has already made 62 appearances for the Belgian outfit, scoring six goals and providing four assists, netting in the UEFA Conference League Group Stages this season.

A recruitment source with close links to Scandinavian football has told Tottenham News that Johan Lange is keen on using his links to that market to bring the left winger to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham News has been told by a scouting source who has seen the youngster in action that Nusa is a very talented player with great potential to reach the top of the game.

He has been described as a tricky winger, who is clever with his feet and likes to cut in onto his right foot.

Nusa has already made four appearances for the Norwegian national team after making his debut on 7 September 2023, a debut in which he scored and provided an assist in a 6-0 friendly win over Jordan.

Sky Sports News credited Spurs with an interest in Nusa in their live transfer centre (16 January, 5:48 pm), with Ange Postecoglou keen to continue tracking younger, more long-term options in each position.

The North London side are currently well stocked in the wide areas, with Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson able to play on the right, while Timo Werner, Son Heung-min and Bryan Gil can all feature on the left.

No way is he going to be good enough to play PL football for a while. A Norwegian from the Belgian league. I mean the odds of a player with that combination being good enough must be long.

Neymar is out for the season due to an injury so his club filled up his vacant spot.

Yeah I think Qatari boy just wanted his 15 minutes with that vague tweet. He’s trying to cover himself now claiming it’s a termination with the plan of re-signing a deal starting next year.

I actually looked into his profile to make sure it was legit and still got duped. Romano follows him and everything, too.

I said at the time Ornstein was bullshitting and we definitely had money. It was a nonsense report if anyone thought about it for more than one second.

It was more the fact that it was a typical vague opinion covering all bases, he doesn't know about our financial situation but our fans went nuts because everyone thought that we were going spend pittance, just pointing out the irony that we have spent the most this window.
