Yet my point still stands, you're arguing the exception.

If you're happy to go with the conspiracy angle regarding refs then fine, all I'm saying is don't give the refs an excuse in the first place.

I just gave you plenty of examples. Bissouma is the exception, that's my point.

Should he have dived on a yellow? Obviously not.

Was it incredibly unlucky that he's the only one on the whole fucking league to get a red card for it? Obviously, yes.

Bissouma's job is to take responsibility for his own actions and make sure it doesn't happen again. Our job as fans is to put pressure on the officials to not fuck over our team.

Or you can just continue signaling your virtuousness on chat forums.

Well, our defense got sorted with VDV and Romero returning, now the midfield is becoming a mess, isn't it?

Bentancur in his worst form he has ever been for this club.
Bissouma fighting with malaria AND shit run of form.
Sarr also just recently returning from AFCON.
GLC injured, as always.
PEH can have only very limited role, but way too limited on the ball for this system.
Skippy hardly setting world alight either with his performances.

Only positive aspect is that now at least everyone are within the club AND we mostly have one game per week (more recovery time).

But agreed, we REALLY need Bissouma to rediscover the level of performances he displayed in first 7 rounds of EPL!

984 bookings this season, only 23 of those bookings has the player gone on to be sent off, 1 being Bissouma, do you know what that means? It means that only 2% of those incidents have resulted in players being sent off after their initial booking- you're not seriously sitting there telling me that the vast majority of those 984 times players have been booked have been let off for diving whilst on a yellow card are you?

It was unlucky but it was equally stupid, if you're citing this script writing nonsense and claim there's out and out corruption in the Prem then why give the refs an excuse in the first place? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean in regards to us doing our job putting pressure on refs, unless you think the PGMOL log into TFC and read the posts in the Bissouma thread?

Incidentally I find it absurd you question people's mentality in the match thread yet you're hanging onto this conspiracy about refs being on the take and having this woe is us/refs are against us belief

Refs clearly adjust the whistles to narratives.

Oliver knew about the Ake goal and knew Everton were going to do the same. He premeditated before the game that he would let some go. That isn't reffing the game that is influencing the script based on narrative. Whether is fits in the safe zone of what you can accept about sport or not.

You really think every world cup draw or FA Cup draw is fully random and uninfluenced? You think the prem fixtures are really done with a machine only and no extra drama "written" in? That's up to you mate but in the real world this is a business.

You first galaxy brain stuff about yellow card count, I have no idea what you are banging on about. not sure you are either.

as for logging on to TFC to check, of course they don't but I chat on this forum the same way I would at a game. Spurs fans need a culture of being against officials to maintain enough pressure on them to make them think twice. It's just in the team's best interests. You won't find a club anywhere that wins and has "balanced" and "fair" fans when it comes to officials. Every single one is on them as hard as they can for 90min every week.

The players and manager? that's different.

Agree, at the moment I think most people would list our top CM's going forward as Maddison, Bentanur, Bissouma and Sarr (4 of them), followed by Skipp, Hojbjerg and Lo Celso.

With the last 2 likely to be leaving in the summer and probably replaced by :
- 19 year old Bergvall,
- an experienced CM (so 7 CM's next season)
- and maybe Devine,

we would expect the cm3 to be mainly filled by the first 4 CM;s listed, all of whom being experienced players, rotating as necessary. If one of those 4 experienced players is going to be unavailable for almost half the games (2nd year in a row Bissouma has missed a lot of games) that means we are going to be quite reliant on some of the others in the list to be regularly playing ....... and that means if we have one or two injuries or red cards we can quickly find ourselves very thin on the ground.

If we play 60+ games next season because we are in europe (rather than 40 odd this season) having a player regularly unavailable is going to potentially really cost us.

I don't think Spurs really want to move on an experienced CM like Bissouma, as we need to upgrade other players, but there has to be discussions on the availability (or otherwise) of some players.
Think Devine should go on loan again, until Xmas (hopefully at the next level up - Championship challengers or lower Prem), then if he flourishes and Bergvall gets little minutes swap them over (Devine coming back and Bergvall going on a lower Prem/Upper Championship loan).

Both.

I think he played most of first game at AFCON with malaria which he had caught in the 2 weeks prior to tournament, then missed last group game as it was reported he had a sore thigh and last night came off bench in closing stages of the game, presumably not fit enough to start the game.

So this 'sore thigh' has been a problem for over a week, which suggests its more than a tweek. Just have to hope its not, for example, a hamstring (the loose description of 'a sore thigh' without saying whether its front or back or side of thigh means it could be many things, the worst probably being the hamstring)
If it’s thigh that’s the problem it’ll be the front of it and not the hamstring. Biggest issue with thigh injuries is kicking the ball. If he was fit to go on then he hasn’t got a tear because you can’t run or kick a ball with a thigh tear. He won’t come straight back into the team though. The Malaria thing is bigger worry. Is it something you get over quickly??

Absolute straw man deflection crap, I switched off when you started talking about FA cup draws, Good Lord.

Hard to have sympathy if you're diving on a yellow card tbh.

There are other players who have been booked for diving but the vast majority of players aren't daft enough to dive once they're booked which is why it's rare.

Just got to take this one on the chin

It was a clear 2 yellows but the refs have missed many obvious 2nd yellows again us.
Noordguard (sp??) and Godfrey in the last 2 games alone

Just gotta accept it (as our manager says)

Just don't give the refs an excuse in the first place to be used against us.

You think that's possible?

Players can play at premier league intensity without making mistakes?

It doesn't work that way I'm afraid. Sport at this level is more about mentally manging mistakes more than it is avoiding mistakes because you can't. It's not possible and never has been.

Yes it's possible not to fucking dive whilst you're not on a booking, the vast majority of players do it, I don't see why Bissouma can't, if he's unable to stay on his feet after a booking then he shouldn't be in the team, it's that simple.

That isn't how it works at that speed. He was expecting contact and to be able to win a free kick.
It happens and is just part of sport at this level. You on you sofa giving the high and mighty probably find that hard to understand but the margin between a foul won and a dive at that level is much thinner than you will ever understand.

You are hilarious - yet when the same thing happens against us I don't see you having the same energy.

When Sterling does it or when Godfrey did it I didn't hear this apologist crap from you, have a day off mate 😆

All I am asking about for Godfrey yesterday is that he is punished in the same way as Bissouma was.

Same for Sterling.

Same for all the players like both Bruno's that I have seen dive whilst already on a yellow. That was the point all along.

If that is hilarious to you, then your sense of humour is even more challenged than it appears in your posts on here.

So we're saying that Bissouma was unlucky to be carded and you've used every all sorts of mental gymnastics to try and justify it yet when other players do it it's not okay, makes sense.

At this point you're just speaking a whole load of shite - just stop, you're all over the place.
