Match Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace - Sat. 2nd March 3pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I do like him but apart from the free kick he didn't do much, he has quality in general though, he'll be 26 next year.... I think this ship has sailed.
Close to 26 years old and homegrown having just signed a contract extension so will be overpriced.
A couple of major injuries including hamstring issues.
Doesn’t work hard enough for an Ange team.

Seems like an expensive luxury player. Got the Zaha vibe about him. Reckon we could better spend the money he would cost.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everything you say, however I found zaha a bit whiney and a bit of a prima donna...I don't get that feeling with Eze.

I just think he's priced himself out of a move to a bigger club by signing the new contract. He could and should be playing at a higher level than Palace

You can win a game in 10 minutes but no way should that be our actual tactic for the match. We upped the tempo not because the opposition got tired but because we were chasing the game. I agree that we don’t need to attack for 90 but we do need to start matches by moving the ball forward more quickly.
Get the ball in early in the first half otherwise they get confortable knowing how we are gonna play. Put some crosses in or some balls over the top.

Poor first half performance followed by an excellent response to their goal. Bents still looks well off the pace, surprised he was picked over Sarr, in saying that watch his foul for their free kick leading to the goal, he still outdoes Bissouma in the tracking back, who looks like he has learnt nothing from the Wolves game.
Porro needed back asap, Royal was half decent defensively, but offers little going the other way, not helped by another poor performance from Kulu. Excellent from Johnson and Werner though, both contributing positively from the wings and making goal contributions.
Thought that yet another ref gave us very little, I think its a penno all day and let them away with an awful lot of time wasting.

I think people are being incredibly harsh on Timo for that first half chance, anyone would think it was a simple tap in or that he was the first forward to come off worst in in a one-on-one dual with the keeper.

Seems to me he did everything right and yet Johnson managed to Stretch Armstrong an arm across to save his goal-bound shot. Brilliant keeping, it reminded me of a chance when Vic did the same for us, seemed to extend his arm beyond the normal range. Great save, give him credit.

Unless of course you want to over-criticise his every shortcoming to back up your prejudice and then underplay his "simplest of tap in goals" when the narrative goes against you that is.

I thought he was extremely poor in that 1 on 1.
Couldnt care less if he scored a tap in. They all count. Have to be in rihgt position

That was the second angle they showed on TV, when my Palace mate went "Oh fuck...". It was brushed away in second and the corner given.

You just know that certain other teams would have been given it in seconds.
Saka, Salah and Sterling get a pen + a lifetime ban for their opponent even if they don't get touched so yeah, that happens to them, man oh man

Watched the game just now as I’d missed it.

1. Wasn’t a bad performance at all. Really don’t get what the fuss is about. We completely controlled the game and gave them almost nothing.

2. Created a bunch of chances. Werner had the 1v1 and another chance back post. Johnson should have scored. Son hit post and had another good chance plus a fluffed shot before Werner should have scored.

3. Blatant penalty. In real time and slowmo. Shocker from the officials and VAR. What’s the fucking point?

4. Maddison looks back. Great assist for the second. Bissouma is almost back but we miss him carrying the ball to break lines. Maddison is the only player that wants to do that. Sarr when he came on.

5. Great subs. All made their impact.

6. Emerson and Werner underrated in the game.

7. We don’t play 1 touch round the corner enough and don’t shoot enough.

Yet we have some fans calling it "A sitter". :mourcheeks:

Paid for his potential. It will come. Hes only 21.
22 I think and for £50M need a bit more than potential will be 23 this may. Not exactly a young kid like Veliz. His coming into his prime years and has been around first team football for few years. He did well today and showed a bit of tenacity for a change. For now I think needs start on bench. Few more Camrys like that then see. However he does really need show more and consistency.

Because it’s so hard to play against 11 behind the ball when they are that deep. It’s even hard to find any space to get a shot away. I still think we should be taking a shot every time there’s even a hint of a chance just to try get the crowd excited. If any of those palace players go home tonight and say they enjoyed that then they should retire. They’d get football stopped.
Bar codes put 3 past wolves ?

Once again, we struggled when they sat back and defended in numbers. We showed that we are deadly on the counter, and palace will be kicking themselves for letting us back in the game.

I felt that we very much played the same system all game. We allowed them to settle into their defensive shape and then tried to build an attack with out center backs. There was no room for that killer pass, so we ended up mostly playing keep ball.

He had a quick decision to make. Once Johnston got out to him he didn't have room to try much other than what he did, and the fact he doesn't go well to the left doesn't help. It was like he came to the goalie at speed instead of letting Johnston commit and then moving past him (or taking an early shot before the angle closed). You make the good point, criticizing is easy, but making that play is hard.

4.5. van der Ven also breaks lines, watch our 3rd goal.
