Its just coming across as him burying his head in the sand. We'd be about 7 to 10 pts better off if we could defend set pieces. Seems a very odd hill to die on.I genuinely don't see the logic in him saying improving set pieces won't improve us

its becoming apparent that logic isnt actually his strong pointI genuinely don't see the logic in him saying improving set pieces won't improve us

Pretty sure he said theres simply more important things that need fixing.
Not once did he say that. Show me the quote where he says”improving set pieces won’t improve us”I genuinely don't see the logic in him saying improving set pieces won't improve us
Anyone reading that quote as we don’t need to improve at set pieces shows that people are either stupid or have an agenda to have a go at the manager.its becoming apparent that logic isnt actually his strong point
basically yeah, that's how i read it. He wants to get the foundation right first in terms of how we play in attack, how we recover the ball when we loose. the transitions of plays.
the zonal marking from corners maybe he hasn't looked at it too much yet, it was conte who implemented it. there wasn't really much complaints about Zonal the previous two seasons
But it is something we could and should be working on by now. There's no improvement in that area.Anyone reading that quote as we don’t need to improve at set pieces shows that people are either stupid or have an agenda to have a go at the manager.
One of the most stupid things he’s said.I genuinely don't see the logic in him saying improving set pieces won't improve us
I get that but at the end of the day it becomes and individual thing as well as a collective. If one player switches off and his player scores then you could have practiced them for hours and hours and it makes not one bit of difference. If the delivery and timing of the run is right you are in trouble no matter what. But it is something we could and should be working on by now. There's no improvement in that area.
One of the most stupid things he's - not - said
Correct.

pNot word for word but his, comments have clearly played down the importance of set pieces against us.
Someone on reddit pointed out that he had the same issue at Celtic in his first season. They let in a lot of set piece goals, then cut them down by half in his second season.basically yeah, that's how i read it. He wants to get the foundation right first in terms of how we play in attack, how we recover the ball when we loose. the transitions of plays.

Can you post a link to that statement.quite interesting that he's outright said he expects to be in a title race this time next year.
Manager doesnt get what he wants in the summer, clearly disallusioned and gets the arse from the start of the season, a few iffy results, crowd starts to get on Levys back, sacked in November, new saviour comes in and does well for a bit, doesnt get what he wants in the summer.........We've all seen this film before.
