Guirassy and Abraham for under £50m would do for me.
Tevez was 23 when he joined Man United. Please stop posting bollocks. United have loans all the time, pretty much all clubs (except City?) have done them in recent times.
That’s my point - he’s signs for free a few months after the window shuts
Pretty Sure Ange said recently Skipp is someone he wants to keep around ?We're likely to lose at least 2 MFs this summer (PEH, GLC)... If not more (Skipp?)......
To go into a season inc. Europa Lg with just Biss, Benta and Bergvall (with a question mark over his head) for 2 positions and Maddison alone for the other another and think we'll get through unscathed is madness.
I typed 3 bc I cbf’d to type more.
You’ve admitted you were wrong. We can move on.
Simons on loan would be fucking shrewd.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Manchester United did not sign Carlos Tevez permanently because he wanted to retire in 2013 | Goal.com UK
Red Devils boss reveals that the former Boca Juniors hitman had told the club that he wanted to call time on his career in due course, and now believewww.goal.com
Thanks, but reading is also free. The loan was from 2007 due to his third party ownership setup, this article is referring to 2009 and why they didn't sign him at the end of his loan.
But apart from Tevez they've had countless loans and one year contracts - Ighalo, Sabitzer, Weghorst, Reguilon, Amrabat.
I do agree it's not a strategy for long term improvement of the squad though.

You were a shit ideaWhich is my point
And Utd obviously aren't a small club but their transfer strategy is in the pits, trying to cover shortfalls all the time so they're not the best example anyway.
Anyway Ximons on loan is a shit idea.
Alright, but that's not "up" though, it's dwindling, "up" generally means finished which it isn't (sadly). That’s my point - he’s signs for free a few months after the window shuts
Can’t pretend I’ve ever watched a minute of him play, but being better at hold up play is a necessity.Been watching him more since we’ve been linked with him and he’s better than I thought. I know it’s the Dutch league but he’s quicker than I thought over the first 5 yards, brilliant left foot, can finish but what he is very good at is bringing other players into the game.
Heard the comparisons with Jansen but looks much better.
Big jump from the Dutch league to here but he’s got that Argentinian/Mexican tenacity about him too. Not against it but always a gamble from that league as you’re never sure what you’ll get. I suppose that’s the same with any player coming to England.
Funny how you ignored this post because you know you've contradicted yourself in the space of 24 hours.
Maybe next time you shouldn't be so quick to call out others for lacking ambition when you lack ambition yourself
kingdawson was right you speak a load of bollocks and try and cover it up with more bollocks.

You said small clubs do loans.
I referenced examples of us, Man UTD and Odourguard to Woolwich,
As much as we hate to admit it, the dry loan of Odourguard has been a massive success for the scum, which essentially proves that a loan can be good transfer policy.
You were chatting shit about only small clubs doing it and you are chatting shit that it is lacking in ambition to do loans because they are loans.
Drag other posters in as allies if you like. Doesn't change the fact you are chatting shit.

Fair enough on admitting you were wrong.Okay Richard, small clubs don't do loans you're right it was a lazy analysis and I was wrong.
The point is though that clubs with a strategy or trying to get somewhere don't use the loan market and you can use the anomaly of Odegaard and the basket case club Man Utd all you want, look at conduct of transfers around Europe, how many dry loans do you see happening especially in the Premier League?
Not many right...and what do you think the reason that is?
Now please don't try and do your usual shit and deflect by speaking more bollocks trying to cover the crap you already spouted, just own the fact that you got it wrong and your thought process is fucked up because when it's coming from other posters you know you have a problem
Don't worry mate, it's okay to be wrong, you feel much better when you own it.
Fair enough on admitting you were wrong.
I'll give you this, as a general rule, loans benefit the club that owns the player and aren't a good policy long term.
But as with the Odourguard case, there are exceptions. IMO Simons on loan would be an exception because of how good he is and how good he could help us be for a season whilst we have more money for other game-changing talent.

And that's before we also need a winger and defenders to compete for LCB and RB.
The only way it benefits us (like Odegaard) is if we sign him on a permanent transfer after, if not then it's not really comparable.
