I think there's two options with Gallagher this summer. He leaves because Maresca doesn't want him and he goes to someone like Villa or another team that may want him. (Has Simeone Atletico Madrid written all over him) - or he signs a new deal because it's been confirmed they no longer need to sell.

But I don't think any of the options lead to him signing for us. Just my feeling
 
I think with Gallagher and Chelsea it’s just a game of chicken. He’s on a low salary and wants his new salary to be among the highest at the club (as would befit a captain). The club know that FFP troubles are close and want to bring down their wage bill.

Of course, it’s possible that neither side will blink and he’ll be sold. More likely, they reach a compromise and he signs a new contract with Chelsea.
