Eze to cover left wing and attacking midfield…….a striker……..Gallagher…….Left centreback/ left back.
4 in. That’s my prediction.
Eze - £60m
Gallagher - £35-£50m
Striker - £30-£60m
Left sided defender - £x

No CL income
No Europe at all last season.
Players to sell worth no more than £50m all in IMO.
I'd say It'll be the wish.com versions of Eze and Gallagher, no striker unless a good offer comes for Richie and he goes and the cover for VDV is probably VDV.

Spending ~150m is pretty standard these days. Especially as we should end up around 100m net.

My biggest concern is we don't seem to be targeting any right forwards so we'll have another season of Johnson/Kulu ball meaning our ceiling will be limited.

Johnson was always a 'work in progress', but Kulu is a real frustration. While he's not pacy, he's tricky and great with the ball at his feet. However, I've lost count of the number of times he's fucked a great counter by not getting his head up and reading the game. If we can get fix that, he's definitely good enough.

Just read this about Marmoush we have been linked to (dippers as well).

He couldn’t sound any more like what we Ange likes based on that analysis. Essentially a really high level 1v1 and ball carrying player with the data of being the best pressing forward in the Bundesliga and also overperforms his xG.
Good player, I do like him. Potential to become the next Salah...minus the mad scoring ability but better passer. Or he'll be the new Nacer Chadli...

That's the kinda deal we should've done instead of Werner. Now I think it'll be too pricey re fee & wages. Unless Kulu, BJ, Gil or Solomon or a couple of them jog on.

Baena on this list is probably the affordable alternative to Eze and looks a real player to me.

Brennan Johnson there probably doesn't sit well with some of the world views on here.

Yeah, I'll admit that's a surprise.

It doesn't mention his misses, bad passes and poor choices, but they are all trainable. Werner being equally messy just makes them both look worse.

Hopefully as well-paid professionals, him and Werner will have that sorted by August.

I Hope Please GIF

We spent just over £100m net last summer IIRC. Which was off the back of being in the CL the season before and finally admitting we needed some serious investment.
I can't see us doing that year on year.

If we are talking about pure talent then Toney is a very good striker that doesn't actually have many weak points (good finisher, good passer, good hold up play, good in the air, good with his back to goal, good running onto the ball, good pace).

Only issues are his questionable attitude and age. I mean he disrespected his club on video then doubled down and disrespected them again on video (in additional to his gambling addiction).

40m ....I think I would be tempted but pass. 30m I think I'd be happy we take the risk.
20 mil incl bonuses.

2yr deal.

80k pw salary with a part perf-related.

Option to terminate contract if (when?) he behaves like a right twat again.

Anymore than that and Brentford + player can effing do one.

Where would he fit for us? RWF or #9?

I'm right there with you on Werner, we needed a guy like this as one of our 6 attackers AND a player capable of becoming our next world class attacker.

Isak doing stuff like this should remind everyone that we sold Kane and haven't added a player even close to his ceiling as a player. I get that we won't sign a Kane replacement for now but we need a player that is good now and has the ability to get to the Son/Kane level.

If you have to bake-in that many contingencies and clauses into a deal, you have to ask yourself is it really worth it?

I think the answer is an easy no.

None of this benefits Spurs though apart from the fee and wages.
2 year deal at his age leaves him a free agent at his prime.
Terminating his contract leaves him free to go where he wants....in his prime.

It would likely be best to have a clause that says if he gets banned, we can reduce his wages by 80% and extend his contract by the term of the ban. That way, we get the years we signed him for out of him and he should be tempted to behave himself if he knows he'll lose most of his income.

Or you just try to be a bit more ambitious and sign a player that you don’t need to bend over backwards to accommodate

Ridiculous move and shot. It’s crazy how much Isak has improved since coming to the Prem. I didn’t see it when he was at Sociedad.

Let's be real the fans don't really know what they want this Summer and we're all ready to meltdown regardless of who comes in. This fanbase though historically reacted to foreign players who are unknowns because they have a little bit of mystique about them hence why fans fell in love with players like Soldado and kept lauding him even though he was stinking out the place and Jansen was given so much grace despite the fact he was complete ass.

For example some of our fans want Giminez but at the same time will tell you Troy Parrot isn't good enough.

It's the perception of the sexy foreigner that fans relate to as opposed to your run of the mill homegrown English striker, we see Toney's a lot more than other strikers abroad as well so we see more of his deficiencies as a player so speak on the thing he can't do as opposed to the things he's capable of yet I don't see the same energy for players like Sesko or Gyökeres, Toney's age probably counts against him as well.

At the end of the day Toney represents an upgrade because he's a good striker who's played in this league before, has a respectable record for Brentford who aren't an attacking team and he's better than our current options, no-one can argue against that and for £40m we could do a lot worse,
TBF, Toney was shit last season. Signing a player in his late 20s, with character issues, coming off a shit season for a large fee sounds fucking ridiculous because it is ridiculous. In truth he's had 1 really good PL season in his career and 1 really good Championship season.

We need to sign a striker, 100%. But it shouldn't be Toney.
