I'm not, in my previous post I literally admitted that he had a poor season last season?

Like I said there are mitigating circumstances as to why he had a poor season because he didn't train for 8 months, why are you ignoring this? Like how do you explain a striker being in red hot form the season before then falling off other than the fact that he had a massive stoppage in his career thus affecting form and rhythm?

I didn't even say I *wanted us to sign him, all I've argued is that he doesn't represent a risk factor as much compared to some of the other names being put forward and we could do a lot worse

The truth is like I said people are just using selective arguments against him and not keeping the same energy for other players, you mention Ximenez but come on don't be silly, what evidence do you see of him coming in and settling in this league, he plays in the Eredivisie for God's sake, like it's on par with the Championship at best lol

Also I'm not gonna take up your bet until I know who these players sign for :p
My feeling on Toney comes down to this: he's just the next Danny Ings.

99.9% our starting front 3 for the start of the season will be Son, Richy, Johnson/Kulusevski
Ange better become a magician.

Especially with the MF behind them and that uber leaky defence (batshit crazy tactics, lack of effort from some...).

But hey, you just never know. Sonny might play like the 26yo version of himself, Richy might turn into El Fenomeno, BJ into Bale, Biss into Toure Yaya...

Where would he fit for us? RWF or #9?

I'm right there with you on Werner, we needed a guy like this as one of our 6 attackers AND a player capable of becoming our next world class attacker.

Isak doing stuff like this should remind everyone that we sold Kane and haven't added a player even close to his ceiling as a player. I get that we won't sign a Kane replacement for now but we need a player that is good now and has the ability to get to the Son/Kane level.

Re Isak - gotta let that one go, it's never happening. If he leaves the barcodes, he's going to City, Liverpool or Woolwich...or even the friggin Chavs. Abroad it'd be between PSG, Bayern or Barca.

What we gotta do is find the next Isak. Is that Gyokeres? Possibly, but fuck me...spending 60 or even as much as 80 mil on the kid, that's a big gamble and whenever we've spent big, it's been a disaster. That said, maybe we've become better when it comes to evaluating a player, his skills, mindset...the lot. But somehow I don't trust our decision-makers...

Re Marmoush - he's that good he can pretty much play anywhere across the front line, though I wouldn't make him a 9, don't think he's got the physicality for it (yet). But as a LWF or RWF, yeah sure. He's already better than Kulu and BJ, no question...and I reckon he gives aging Sonny a real run for his money. As for Werner, the question shouldn't even be there to be asked. I think he could also take Madders' spot in that No 10/support striker role. On paper, he'd be a very shrewd signing and I honestly reckon doable for 30 odd mil...I'd rather spend that on him than double on Eze or Gyokeres, but just my intuition.

In what world are Newcastle selling one of their best players to a team they would see themselves as trying to rival?

It would take silly money to achieve that. Some of you need to stay off the drugs. Or take your medication.

If you have to bake-in that many contingencies and clauses into a deal, you have to ask yourself is it really worth it?

I think the answer is an easy no.

Brentford and Toney would never go for what I put on the table, but they both gotta be realistic...yeah he's probably worth more than 20 mil fee + 80k a week wages...but he's 28, got a year left with the Bees, and he comes with major question marks. Beggars can't be choosers kinda thing.

No way we should let them dictate the negotiations, but then again we got bummed by RB Leipzig for Werner (Forest for BJ, OL for Ndombele, Betis for Lo Celso...) so I wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be paid Brentford 40+ mil and give the mighty Ivan 150 a week for 4 years. They'd justify it by saying we needed a striker and Englishmen, that we beat so & so to his signature etc. And they'd be some on here doing Levy's bidding, as per.

But really, you're saying you're a big club that wants to back his manager and really compete for titles next year...first, you don't go for Toney, especially as your primary target. And if you still wanna get him, you go with an offer not that dissimilar to the one I suggested originally. Or you let fucking West Ham or Everton make crazy ass offers.

We’re supposedly looking at Vanderson there
Vanderson is good enough to be more than Porro's backup and that's a good thing...you want your starters to really feel challenged.

But personally I'd prefer that Gray kid from Leeds. Sure, he's less of a threat to Porro in the short term, but give it a season or two tops and I reckon he puts the Spaniard on the bench. And he's English.

Never seen him play but the more research I do the more I like Marmoush.

Also on the Isak topic, I always thought Randall Kolo Muani had a similar skill set to Isak. If they are interested in flipping him after a rough season, I’d be investigating to see what they would say to a 50m offer.
