I agree about the double pivot, and I'd like to see it, but Ange was so stubborn in his formation last year I'm not sure how likely it is. Especially with the targeting of Eze, he's another #10, honestly I've no idea how it's all supposed to fit together.

One thing giving me hope is that Ange has been known to adapt and evolve once everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.

He just wants everyone to have belief in what he wants them to do first and foremost before adding and amending. I imagine to show the players he's all in and be needs them to be too. The basic fundamentals will be there (playing out from the back, high press) and that'll never change but slight tweaks will always happen.

End of last season we saw us go to three at the back AND play a formation with a false 9 and show some tactical flexibility. Not to mention there were times last season where in game we went to a double pivot and it helped us out.

It's why I believe we've been linked with Gallagher for so long despite having an abundance of 8s and Gallagher isnt a 6.

Difference is Calafiori is no Davinson Sanchez...

And Sanchez was so highly rated that Mourinho had specifically targeted him in the Europa final 3 months earlier, even though he was paired with a 17 year old De Ligt. I never saw what the fuss was all about with him tbh, always looked awkward on the ball.

Oh absolutely in hindsight - but there was alot of gushing over the signing at the time. How we finally started to show ambition by spending big on a young centre back despite having the best centre back pairing and how we beat Barcelona to him etc.

The false #9 stuff was promising to see (although I do think that was partly out of necessity, ie Richy being crocked and Son being our only viable LW), but I don't recall him using a back three, other than to try and see out the occasional game like United or Everton away (and which invariably just invited pressure).

From the Athletic

Brentford are thought to want £60m for Toney, 28, but some believe they might accept a figure closer to £40m.

12 months left on contract, with no one rushing to get him, they already bought his replacement striker for 40M.... they lucky if they get 20m as people gonna wait till end of window & Brentford are desperate, Bees dont hold the power in this deal

I hate Woolwich as much as anyone but if they make good moves in the market I'll call it. I don't see what benefit it does sticking your head in the sand and trying to convince yourself everything they do is crap, when it blatantly isn't.

Cool, go and speak about it in their thread then, literally no benefit to talking about their business in here is there?

Couldnt give a fuck who they sign.

everyone they sign is a

The Luton game is always mentioned as the drop off point but I think his drop off in form comes later and coincides with us losing Van de Ven, Romero and Maddison tbh mixed in with how stop start his season started to become.

He was fine against Palace on his return and then he had to play alongside 8 men against Chelsea. Can't really blame him in that one.

Wolves, for me, is where his form started to dip. Which happened to be the game following Chelsea where we had no Udogie, no Romero, no van de Ven and no Maddison.

He then got suspended after that for getting a yellow. So already, after a consistent opening 10 or so games, it's stop start, stop start for him.

Doesn't have the best game against City. We then lose at home to West Ham.

Then it starts to look like he's getting back to his best with a good performance against Newcastle and he played well against Forest before he goes and gets sent off. He then misses the next 6 games (2 months), gets malaria and another niggly injury I believe and never finds consistency again before ending the season injured.

I am hoping Bissouma can find his confidence again in pre season, which he somewhat found last year and goes into the season strong. It's what all of us should be hoping for
I'm very confident he will find himself.

Remember that laughing-at-crying-gooner moment? That's not a shy person. That's spurs.

Well um yes we're all Spurs fan if you hadn't noticed...of course I'm burying my head in the fucking sand, I don't want them to do well and we don't need constant reminders from wet wipes who can't get over the fact that they are doing what we should have done with Poch...unless you get off salivating over our rivals as some of dopamine hit, does it make you feel good constantly talking about them and their transfer business?, does it improve your mental state, I don't get it?

This place is honestly weird, we have enough Woolwich cucks throughout the season sucking them off, if you wanna join them fine but you should at least do it in the thread that's dedicated to them, not this one.
