UTD using muscle to be the market makers that Levy is scared to be.

Now that Yoro is going for 62m Euros then Rennes will absolutely want the same for Doue, which is almost certainly why we ducked out.

I can see why people would say that's too much and we shouldn't do it. I can also see why UTD would do it if they have the conviction in the player for the future.

If 19 year old kids from Ligue 1 are going for 60m, fuck knows what we need to pay for other targets.

Getting Vuskovic for as much as we did proves to be a bargain more and more each window.

Well a few of us did say that ….erm last summer

I wasn’t quite as raucous as some but I thought it patently obvious 30m was way too much for a player being actively hawked out that no other fucker wanted, also including playing shite 6 months up until the loan concluded.

We should’ve gone no where close to anything above 20m. That way we could have wiped our chin and had a fair chance of outing him this summer reasonably painlessly

Fuck knows what was going on … maybe Paratici … who knows ?? But we quite clearly overpaid

We’ve now got every man and his dog on this board trying to play him anywhere other than the actual place he’s paid to play with 30m less funds to help secure one who does

I think someone might offer us 15 for him … no chance 25

Money has been spent but not on buying the very best we can afford in terms of fees & wages (which is in the same ballpark as any of the teams below the top couple of teams in Europe), on players that can raise the level of the team and help us compete for trophies. It's been spent on youngsters who may or may not pan out and on players that at best maintain the top 6 challenging no trophy winning stasis and all of those fees accumulate over time so the net spend is commensurate but not in terms of quality in my opinion.
