No one except the ITK's you mean and they won't share this news until its safe to do so by protecting their sources and only once we donate enough cash!!!!!

and most likely after the transfer has been announced as 'almost done' in the mainstream press, after which Hercules ITK will say 'look its the man with a limp who I told you about. I know he doesn't have a limp now but he did when I saw him a few months ago .... and he's really good and Ange likes him toooo.'

(spelling dealt with to make it comprehensible)

Morning all. It's my birthday, but I still have PTSD from last year's 'present' from Spurs; a monsoon abandoned game against some Thai sailors.

So, this year, I want something good please.
1. Eze
2. Vinicius Jnr.
3. 10 year contract extension for Romero.
4. Tickets to the NLD that I failed to get yesterday, despite being 42,562nd in the queue.
5. A motivational phone call from Ange. (I'm getting on a bit now, so would also accept Gary Mabutt.)
6. A new club song by Fontaines DC, just to add a bit of contrast to Chas and Dave and Mr Manelo.
7. My garden's a bit of a tip, so please could you send Mickey, Cuti, Deki and Vic to help me out.

Many thanks, I'm looking forward to these.

I doubt if we will renew Ben Davies contract, if he wanted to move on for regular football that would be perfectly understandable.

The others would be filling in out of position or weakening us elsewhere - VdV is our starting centre back even if Radu is very good. I think genuine competition at left back would be good.
Davies will walk on a free next summer. Been a great club servant.

Genuine LB competition would be nice but with all the versatility in VdV, Davies, Gray, Skipp and Spence I am inclined to believe that we are adequately covered and unlikely to make a dedicated backup LB signing.

Obviously Skipp should have been loaned or sold two seasons ago, but I'll continue to count him as in the squad for us until I hear otherwise.

Skipp was tried at left back last season and it wasnt good. He needs to move on for his career. Davies has been a great servant but isnt an inverted full back. We need VDV pace at centre back to play the high line and lets not ruin Gray by playing him out of position all the time. What we need is someone with pace who can play LB and LCB as without VDV it all falls apart.

What’s your plan? Perhaps we compete with BHA for an unknown Lithuanian u18 forward?

We can afford 75M for Gyokeres. Its the one position we are desperate, I would be happy with that and no other purchases this summer

Not Gyokeres for £80m, Gyokeres for cheaper sounds more appealing, as does Toney.

I don't really care what we can and can't afford, there's a few teams who can afford to overspend on players, those teams also have things called budgets as well.

Teams like Utd stupidly overspend on players like these and then end up flopping.

Market is more or less dead still

Woolwich big signing is Raya (agreed as loan last summer),
Liverpool - nobody,
Man U - Zirkzee
Man city - nobody

So apart from a few clubs playing ffp games, its pretty dead for everyone.

I'd suggest that Gray is probably the outstanding transfer in of the window so far - even though I admit to a certain amount of bias.

Causes of the market being dead are a combination of ffp fears in many clubs plus euros/copa timing, nothing Spurs specific.

So far this offseason we've bought Timo Werner, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. That's already three signings. If you count the winter window we've also added Dragusin, who is already an excellent CB that could become great.

This is already good, but on top of that we also have Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine, Scarlett, Lankshear and Donnely- who appear ready to legitimately contribute. That's amazing. We truly appear to be on the verge of a great haul of useful youth talent. Beyond that I can see us signing a big-name attacker and a backup GK and calling it a day.

The youth have looked great so far. I honestly would love to see any of our current loanees or academy products taken into the squad if we need depth. Even Brandon Austin has looked decent in goal.

Not sure what we do with Solomon, but we barely need him at this point as is. Adding more attackers at now just complicates things and crowds the depth chart further, perhaps why we haven't seen anything incoming- biding our time to keep our bargaining position stronger for a possible sale. Either way already I'm more interested to see Moore get any minutes Solomon might have gotten last season, and that's not even counting the arrival of a new attacker.

Bergvall looks extremely strong and fit, and could be a revelation in the Prem. It feels like he's got something of a will-to-greatness about him. Great to see him smiling on the plane pics after being hauled off injured vs QPR.

Big Happy Birthday

Yesterday
Decent signings seemed so far away
Then we got our hands on Archie Gray
Oh I believe in yesterday

Suddenly
Our deadwood is half the price it used to be
Ghost of N’Dombele hanging over me
Deadline day will be here suddenly

Why Hojberg had to go
We all know but wouldn’t say
Signings we got so wrong
How I long for Hoddle todaaaaaayy

Yesterday
Ange ball was such an easy game to play
Watching Woolwich throw the title away
Damn I really enjoyed that day

Bored , sorry

Well, it all sounds nice, and I truly hope it happens. I won't be holding my breath for Levy to provide that in this position though.
