So according to Romano we are 19 days out from The start of the Season and we still don’t have a clue who we are going for.

Also if it is one player it has to be a world class centre forward in the £100m+ range. The only cf that I can think of is Laturo Martinez that does that.

I think they know who they want but, it's dragging on a bit.
The manager will want to get personnel in so that, he can start getting them set on the training pitch.
I think one or two more will come, but it will be probably after the season kicks off which is not ideal.

Yesterday The Gurns made a signing and as usual nothing about us only the usual speculation. I read ENIC are only selling a 10% stake and I was hoping for a complete takeover.
Get off your Florida sun bed Levy and buy what Ange needs.

Guess we'll find out if we do want him and if this flushes us out like Brentford did with Gray. So much for Chelsea demanding £50m

Good move for him and Chelsea I imagine - much more suited to Simeone ball and he doesn't get sold to a rival.

I think if we truly wanted Gallagher and he wanted to come here, it'd got done. I just have the feeling Gallagher never wanted to leave Chelsea to come here and that's what always held it up

Nothing ever changes in this club. We all know we needed intent and the board to back the manager but the usual manager quote of we're trying to do deals is trotted out. We all know how this goes even the hardcore enic fans (even though they'll still fight for enic/Levy) know how this is going to end. We need a striker we need a winger we won't get anything of the quality needed and it'll all go to shit again next season. Rinse and repeat/ change manager that needs time again.

Last time this happened we got VDV and Brennan Johnson, I'd be happy with getting equivalent transfers again.

Players will come and Ange himself has made it clear we know who we want and haven’t shifted that focus. I am sure we will see movement soon, probably when we’re back from SK.

But what if a couple of the youngsters have really made us sit up and take notice and we’re now considering whether we need a £50m option somewhere? Is that such a bad thing?

You are right. The youngsters have definitely improved the depth of the squad and maybe even the starting side.

Not a bad thing at all. It's what we should be wanting/aiming for. No point in having promising youngsters if we're not going to play/develop them. Looks like one or two might be more ready now than was previously anticipated, which is great!

Also I'm confident that both Archie Gray and Bergvall will see plenty of first team minutes this season.

They’re taking the piss with these bids though aren’t they. Probably trying to get the player to push and agitate for the move too.
On the one hand, clearly we have a valuation that their original offers fell way short of so yes...

On the other hand, he's absolutely fucking dreadful and we're lucky they are mental enough to offer us anything more than a bag of out of date Quavers for him, so maybe not???

We still have room for a couple of overseas born players on our PL squad list if needed and a couple of HG players.

Overseas. ......... ....................... HG
1.Vicario. .............................. 16. Foster
2.Porro. .......................... 17. Austin (CT)
3. Romero. . ...................... 18. Spence
4. VDV. ................................. 19. Davies
5. Dragusin........ ...... .... 20. Maddison
6. Udogie. ......... ............... 21. Gray
7. Bissouma
8. Sarr
9. Bentancur
10. Kulusevski
11. Sonny
12. Richarliason
13. Werner
14. Solomon
15. Bergvall **
Assumes GLC, Emerson, Reggie and Skipp all move on.

I don’t see any chatter about Skipp leaving after a (single?) very speculative link to Leeds — seems to be this thread’s wishful thinking and I highly doubt he’s going anywhere — and there’s been no news on GLC for weeks — another last minute subsidized loan?

We have seen this film before though, the club seems to not be worried about, having a couple of poor results at start of season, just as long as they wait until price drops.
You've absolutely nailed it their, my friend.

Not transfer related , but relevant to your point
I remember a few years ago, despite the protestations of Poch, Levy insisting Spurs take part in some meaningless pre season tournament over in Germany where we played Bayern literally a couple of days before we kicked our season off at Old Trafford.

We duly lost. 1 -0 I think.... A precious 3 points down the jotter.

One of many many many examples of our disgraceful ownership prioritising their stated ojective of prioritising profit, money, and financial exploitation over what matters to the fans....... .results on the pitch.
