The point you seem to have wilfully missed is that Chelsea and Utd are comparable to us which is a load of bullshit regardless because if we're at different stages than Liv/Cit/Ars then we're sure as hell at different stages to Chels/Utd and also using those clubs as a barometer of how we should be acting is stupid because recent history tells us they've got a lot more wrong than right.

So a team that made 2 cup finals last season and a team that won the FA Cup are a stupid barometer because we're clearly at a different stage to them yeah?

Barca didn't rate Bergvall enough to match what we offered him...

Why not mate? I've been told Chelsea are a basket case we shouldn't be compared to but they're in talks to sign Osimhen apparently. United paying higher wages than us is fair as is City, the rest we should be competing with.

This argument is dumb we are literally going round in circles, talk about their cup finals all you want but you are literally comparing them to teams who have won the league and the CL over recent seasons, what are we even doing here?

Also if you hadn't noticed those two clubs finished behind us despite one of them spending a fuck load more than us last Summer alone and the other spending a fuck load more than us over the past 3 seasons, that tells you the full story of their transfer successes/failures.

Yeah I don't think there is any excuse anymore for us to not seriously be in for these types of players.

Money talks and we have the money to make these deals happen. Yes we don't have the prestige of the elite clubs but we will only get that by winning things and to win things we need elite players.

An endless cycle of developing young players and selling off our best when they become elite will mean we stay at our 4th place/trophyless ceiling.

When did I compare United and Chelsea to the top 3???

You of all people should not be mentioning the top 3 as a comparison to us. They spend the money proactively and on quality both in terms of transfer fees and wages and we have the resources to do the same but the club choose not to and get away with because there will always be people like you who will excuse whatever for some bizarre reason.

Those joke clubs that finished behind us were 3 and 6 points behind us whereas our top 3 pals were 16, 23 and 25 points ahead of us.

By the way, I've seen you mentioning the fact the manager is not stressed as a positive. Let me tell you know, he's calm because he knows when it goes tits up he'll be another manager cast out with a hefty pay check and then he can turn around say "I did say I wanted signings to be done early but the board didn't see it the same way, not my fault mate"

Also I can't help but notice you didn't want to stick your neck out and state your expectations for this season seeing as we should be compared to the top 3 and not jokers like Chelsea and United.

Seeing as you seem so confident and faithful in the clubs approach I assumed it would have been an easy task but apparently not, funny that.

Barca offered Bergvall more money and matched the offer to the Swedish club.

They denied it after and said we paid more but the truth was explained by a director from the Swedish club. We jut had a better pathway to playing first team football

Agree with you about Osimhena and Kvara though

He would if we lost VDV and Romero though. Well, maybe not that Gray's here, but being 5th choice CB and 3rd/4th choice LB isn't a reason to keep him. Not least because he doesn't count as HG in Europe and is 31. Lovely guy, surplus to requirements.
