£65m for Solanke does seem mad. Without getting in to whether I think he’s the right signing or not as that’s already been done to death in this thread:

I’d take him for Richarlison to Saudi and £5m to Bournemouth from us though.

Would you say £65m for solanke is more, or less mad than £60m for richarlison?
For Watford and Everton, he got 5, 13, 13, 7 & 10 PL goals.

Until last season, Solanke was well behind Richarlison, who himself wasn't at all spectacular. But last season he was much better than any prior Richarlison season.

Here's the catch though. They're the same age. If we're forgiving Solanke for prior seasons, surely we have to forgive Richie and give him another shot? He showed some level of promise last season.
I'd sit him down and ask him where his head and body is actually at right now.
Richie AND Solanke as options would be a statement. Swapping one for another is probably just a sideways step that only really helps the HG quota.

Solanke, Neto, Eze... That's a serious club for me. Why should a club this big, with a global fanbase, one of the best stadiums in the world, and ranked top 10 wealthiest clubs in the world think that is an unrealistic window when they finished 20+ pts off top the year before?
Neither Palace nor Bournemouth want to sell so t hat’s two release clauses of over 130m and another, say 10-20m on Neto, up front (unless we negotiate higher fees with spread out payments).
Of course, not accounting for past transfer payments due.
I can’t see us doing that — I doubt any club in the EPL will.

If we do, and I’ll be super-surprised, then it will probably hamstring our budget for the next couple of years.

As much as posters think that bringing in better attackers is going to make a huge difference, I’m not convinced. I honestly think that strategic tweaks in how we defend (short of signing a world class 6) will make a greater difference.

Yeah number of times Spence raced back and got beyond Davies to help out. Davies is pants needs to go. Spence was doing 3 jobs yday, cover LB, covering for Davies and getting up field as well. How Ange or anyone doesn’t see that he could be useful for us is beyond me.
I thought we did pretty well against a top club with top talent. We lost narrowly 2-1. Though obviously a lot of our players could have played better, nobody needs to feel ashamed of losing a close game against Bayern.

Ideally you don't want to start Ben Davies against opponents this strong. He'll be fine against most of the others though.

Who was calling for Solanke instead of Richy when he scored 29 in the Championship the year that Bournemouth came up?
Osimhen scored 14 goals in Serie A that same season, who was calling for him instead of Richy?

If you are saying fans get interested in players when they have good seasons in big leagues, I don't really get your point.
I didn’t want richi at the time his age, injuries, constantly offside and goals record
