How about enough so that we are NOT the most sustainable club in the league - Does being the most sustainable club excite you? Sorry not so much for me …

While other Chairman are desperately trying to find loopholes in FFP so they can spend more on transfers and wages - Our most beloved Chairman is gleeful about being the most profitable and sustainable.

Oh right, you’ll happy when we are spending an unsustainable amount and become better at finding dodgy loopholes. Got it.

FUCK ENIC
FUCK LEVY

Yes,
Absofucklutely.

I wanna sit at the same table as big clubs that want to win things. They find a way around the rules rather than hiding behind them.

But ENIC are not remotely ambitious on the pitch.
Not. At. All.

Yes, I have the audacity. I don't believe Son should be a guaranteed starter in either position. He is not a striker and has zero hold up ability; he is one of the physically weakest players on our team and is always looking for a foul instead of fighting for the ball. He is entirely inept at winning aerial duels which is another core skill for a striker.

As for LW, for what Ange's system demands; a player to hug the touchline, drawing out the RB for one on one duels to win and deliver byline crosses, no, he's not consistently good enough and is clearly past his prime. He is nowhere near as effective at dribbling as he used to be. He constantly looses the ball and one on ones. Son has always been a player that utilises space between channels - he is not a one vs one winger which the system demands and he is already showing signs that he has lost his pace.

If anyone wants to argue his place should be assured due to his goals then that's equally short-sighted. We scored more goals without Harry Kane than we ever did with him dating back to 17/18.

Maybe you have Sonny derangement syndrome; because he's a club stalwart and is a demigod to a fraction of the fanbase he is somehow undroppable despite being mediocre for two seasons in a row. He should be fighting for his place in the squad but hey, contentment with mediocrity and sentiment is habitual amongst this fanbase. Let him be club captain and starting every game until he retires just because it's Sonny, innit.

This is your opinion and it's fine but to say that Summerville and Fulkrug are better players than him in either position is just laughable, sorry.

It seems like you have some personal bias there against him, you did a bit too much with this post but hey at least you got all your feelings out in the open I guess.

Spurs net transfer spend per season according to TransferMarkt.com

19/20 - 86m €

20/21 - 97.2m €

21/22 - 61.3m €

22/23 - 141.1m €

23/24 - 151.4m €

How much do you think we should be spending?

Chelsea, United, woolwich have net spent more than us over the last 5 years, so we aren’t keeping pace. To make matters worse for us our income from selling players has been piss poor and so that makes our overall outlay look more generous. From memory we got 3m for Sissoko when he cost closer to 30m. We got nothing for Aurier. We gave Lamela away and paid 30m for Gil. There have been loads of other bad transactions which often come about because Levy tries to be savvy and catch a bargain.

The Lamela / Gil thing was horrendous

Second only to Ndombele in recent pieces of bad business. Effectively Gil cost about £40m ffs.

Gil's lower wages and modest re-sale vale (vs zero for Ndombele) mean it's not as bad. Tho Ndombele actually did far more on the pitch for us than young Bry

title contention is not the goal.

trophies are not the goal.

Financial solvency, above all else, is the goal.
It is increasing the value of the investment which the leeches have done remarkably well.
As one pundit put it "Levy is a master at business but a novice at football"

Still the clappers clap along they dont know a trophy cabinet exists (maybe it doesn't at the toilet bowl?)

I think we also gave Doherty away free, some sort of fuck up with too many players loaned out or summink.

We hold onto depreciating assets for way too long, we're not ruthless enough with players that are not up to scratch. Usually Levy wants too much for the player and so we're stuck with bang average players on millions of pounds worth of salaries per year. One thing Chelsea at least used to do right was getting rid when players didn't meet their expectations, they buggered up with Salah and KDB, but more often that not it worked out pretty well for them!

Yep cos we're at the same level as them quality wise right? Rivals being the top 3 as the manager and his devotees told us it was a title challenge in the 2nd season.
14 point gap to 4th and some of these brain donors are wondering why they don't have to spend as much on their squads...where they have already paid more wages and for the most part have outspent us at every opportunity.

They want that 4th to 7th sweet spot. Euro football, keeps a lot happy, the stadium full, the vague sense that you might do something. I can take not winning the league, its bloody difficult but at least try and show some intent to challenge

They want to win as much as possible without stepping out of the comfort zones set by Levynomics. If they have to invest an uncomfortable amount to win they decide that they don't really want to win that badly.

In F1, every year, there are a new set of rules put in place. Fuel stops, aero, parts changes, tyre changes, weight limits etc etc etc. All designed to slow the cars down or even up the competion.

And every year, every single engineer for every team is busy finding ways to get around those rules. Same applies to most organised racing.

That's City, Chelsea, PSG, Barcelona etc etc etc, busy finding ways to get around the rules to get the wins.
We on the other hand start most races on the 3rd or 4th row and whine when we finish midway through the pack that everyone else was cheating.

Fucking cheat as well!
