For those sneering at Solanke, who is the alternative? We can only sign players who want to come to Tottenham. Not being in the CL and being miles away from a trophy is a major handicap. Aside from unproven talents from outside the PL, who else could we get that would bring a reasonable guarantee of goals?

Solanke is no guarantee for goals, having had 1 good season despite turning 27 soon.

Not saying that we should snub him for that, but claiming that he is player that guarantees goals is extremely misleading.

Pot And Kettle ... spring to mind.
You don't put anyone in their place - you just make us giggle...

And yet I stand by my post. Now, I suggest you shut that hole in your mouth and get back on topic. Before you find out actions have consequences. And by consequences, I mean a foul vote. I've no interest in you and your ilks off-topic nonsense. so consider yourself told. (and put in your place).

He's probably more than a guarantee of goals than anyone else on the market who we could realistically get which I think was the point.

Come on guys, isn't there enough hate in the world?

I don't think you can ever say that anyone 'guarantees goals'. Nobody knows how a transfer will work out.

I do think its fair to say that Solanke would fit into our system, and there's been plenty of posts/info on the reasons for that.

But yes, you're right in saying that there is no guarantee...

To be honest, it's quite obvious (as has been all summer), journalists haven't got a clue what's going on.

Fab says we had talks. Some have said we haven't.

This stinks of journalists trying to get ahead of the curve by mentioning us and Toney all bexause Ali Gold mentioned he was on a list of players last week and recent reports that Bournemouth want 60+ for Solanke.
Yep one minute they claiming we are in talks the next it's they haven't started.
Wouldn't be surprised we buy someone out of the blue.

No journo or ITK has a Scooby what or who our plan is, and I love it.

Toney could be a move to get Bournemouth to drop their price.

Solanke could be a move to get Brentford to shift theirs.

Both could be a move to get Lisbon to change their mind. Who knows!

I'm just praying we get a couple of quality players before deadline day. Maybe a surprise that the daft ITK lot haven't heard about. Still think Eze would be great for us

Yep. All off the pitch stuff is ok.
But we football fans don't get to cheer that stuff, it makes no different to me if they hit their goals in the boardroom.
Could not give a fuck because it seems we are still in the same market of player we were before the stadium was built. I don’t give a fuck if GnR or Pink is playing at the stadium unless I’m going to it.

Off the pitch we are on another level from most but on it we are just teetering on the brink of moving into big boys territory or dropping down into fighting for Europe territory. The club have the ability to take us into big boy’s territory but don’t seem to have the balls for it.

Exactly not one of them know what’s happening. I can just imagine Ange saying “make sure you let the press boys and ITK’s know who were after before we go for them “
They are a bunch of idiots and I believe nothing they write. Some get in a mess when they read this stuff rather than just have a debate about who we want.

What's really strange to me is that the same people who slag off Solanke seem to want Neto, a player who's never had a more impressive season than Solanke had last year, and is injury prone as well. I wonder if they'd be treating him the same if he was called Pete Net?

Is that the case or are you just creating imaginary scenarios?

Cause I am bit cautious about Solanke and I am straight up against signing Neto. He is 1/3-available-player that is rumored to cost 60 mil. He is not even close to being in Mbappe bracket, but math suggests that paying 60 mil for player that is available for so little suggests that if he would be fully fit he'd be worth 180 mEUR ....

On the other hand, I'd be more optimistic for Eze and Gyorkes. Latter one is bit more unknown, but Solanke is known but not too impressive in my view. I've never been amazed by his performances when I've watched him play.
