Let’s not forget big Will Lankshear, who also played for their academy.
We seem to have a thing for strikers who have a link to Woolwich![]()
They can manage the odd 2 game weeks. CB is not that demanding a position.Sure but there's going to be times when either VDV or Romero play Thursday in the EL and then Sunday in the PL. This is without including domestic cup runs.
With Royal he can play RCB against weaker teams in the EL, but he's gone to Milan by the looks of it, and if we don't use Davies, we're down two CB cover positions.
Modric takes it by a hair for me but they are definitely the 1st and 2nd best players of the premier league era IMO. Bale as a force for single-handedly changing games was awe inspiring, he was up there with Messi and Ronaldo in that regard (though he could never stay fit enough to put up the kind of stats those two were capable of, obviously), but Modric is still the most talented player I've ever seen in Lilywhite. An absolute maestro in the midfield, capable of the sort of passes you can't even see are on with the benefit of a birds eye view, and very very hard to dispossess. That’s a different conversation
But even then Bale won a trophy here if we want to talk record.
I was talking quality of player. The best footballer I’ve seen in my 43 years of life at Spurs is Gareth Bale
Eze or Neto - would prefer Eze but think it will be Neto£50m+ net spend so far this window then.
If last season is to go by, we've got a good amount for that marquee winger. Let's get it done.

The fact Kane came through the academy and broke every goal scoring record the club has ever had, and stayed for longer than any other good player in the clubs history puts him top.
He wasn't a glamour player no, but his actual output and loyalty makes him the best.

If he scores 18 league goals next season, will you be underwhelmed?
What if he does it again the season after?
Hojbjerg £17m, Parrott £6.7m.92m spent (Solanke 57m and Gray 35m) with 25m received (Emerson 15m and Rodon 10m) puts us at 67m net.
I think the amount of savings on wages as well allows for a winger and a back up LB (with Lo Celso, Skipp, Solomon and Reguillon still to be sold/loaned).

jeez forgot about that.
We don't want to pay release clauses though cause of the lump sum aspect.
Personally I'm just happy I won't have to see Ndombele's name anymore on those record fee lists.
As long as he gives a shit about his basic fitness he'll be better than Ndombele.
In terms of his legacy as one of the best for Spurs it does though.
