They've improved their first team in 5 positions so them although i'd have taken Summerville and not bothered with Werner.
It’s much easier for an underachieving, mid-table team to improve their team (if they put their mind to it) than a top-tier side.

Arguably, neither City nor Liverpool have improved their first eleven this window (yet). It doesn’t make West Ham (or us) more ambitious than those clubs. It just means they’ve had greater opportunity to improve with further to go.
If West Ham sign a CH who improves them but wouldn’t improve us — there’s no way Toribo (IF they get him) plays ahead of Romero — then I couldn’t give a fig.

You said that fear of a repeat of 2018 was a reasonable expectation. It was not.

So you do want receipts. Here you go:

Ive been on here less - are people seriously concerned we won’t bring in a couple of quality options?

I think people should take some time away from the noise.

That was your original post. Here was my reply:

A genuine question, did you have the same thoughts during the 2018 window?

You having the second pea brain on here, with no sense of humour to add, assumed I meant we would sign no-one. At no point did the words, "We'll sign no-one like 2018" ever leave my fingers. You made the leap because you are the one obssesed with 2018 projecting on others for even mentioning it. I was solely talking about a couple of quality players - I clarified this a million times but your obsession with net spend since 2018 wouldn't allow it to register:

"Now tbf quality is subjective but to make my point clear so you don't make assumptions again, for a club who signed zero players for an entire year, I would not put it past them to not sign a COUPLE OF QUALITY PLAYERS for the remainder of this window. This club is more than capable defying belief in transfer windows"

"Do you think a became a spurs fan in 2018, fell into a coma and then woke up last week? You're still arguing with a ghost. Because you dodged my original question you continue to assume I'm talking about whether we spend on principle as opposed to WHAT we spend on. I'll quote you for a 3rd time on the sole point I have been trying to make: you questioned concern that we'll get "couple of quality" signings. I only used 2018 as an example that this club is more than capable of incompetence with signing quality to the comedic extreme of not buying anyone at all but you were too triggered by a four digit number to allow that to transpire and immediately went into "net spend" mode."

Take a bow you muppet.

This is how I know the people who shout down others for putting 2,0,1 and 8 together and claim we need to move on and need help for doing so are the biggest projectionists on here. They are the ones who can't move past it and seem to lose key stage 3 comprehension skills once seeing it.

I bet if 2,0,1,8 came up on your winning lotto ticket you'd be stupid enough to throw it away.

Very happy today, think Solanke is gonna be huge for us and Richy will offer a good option off the bench and they will for sure push each other

I like the signing. Quite a bit. The fee makes me wince a little bit, but I can't sulk at us not spending big and then complain when we do.

The only concern would be, do we have enough wiggle room in the boards eyes to do anything else substantial after this. Because we do still need more.

When i was young we used to have Airgun fights. With Ski goggles to secure the eyes. Small weapons can hurt quite a bit. I was hit in my forehead. Still got the scar. It was quite exciting.
😂

I cringe at some of the stuff we got away with as kids!

My mate had a pistol crossbow, and I remember once this ‘twang’ as a bolt went into the tree I was stood next to at head height! 😳

Without thinking and in knee jerk reaction, I raised my air pistol from the hip Billy the Kid style, and promptly shot him in the butt from 30 feet!

I was well chuffed with that shot! My mate less so! 😂

Well, we are on +50m net spend right now.

We spent well over 100m+ last season. So youd probably expect there's at least two more on the way.

I can't believe we dithered so long with Neto that someone else slipped in and nabbed him....

Why does this always happen to us?

It's so unfair.

We really, really, really, really tried, guys.

#WeTriedGuys
In an alternative universe, I’m thinking that Neto might have had a sneaky-good agent who would slow-play his transfer so he could extract the most he could get for himself and his client.
I doubt that someone as experienced as Mendes would jump at the earliest offer when he knows there’s other interested parties.

All reports previously indicated striker + wide player, but we'll see. I need to either see Eze heating up or new links to wingers.
