“Here we go” Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham transfer target’s new club

According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Conor Gallagher will travel to Madrid either today or tomorrow. The England international will soon sign for Atletico Madrid, putting to bed any remaining links with him and Tottenham. Terms between Atletico and Chelsea have been agreed, as they have been between Atletico and Gallagher too. He will NOT sign for Tottenham.

Bullet dodged. Rather we keep our power dry until January. Wouldn't have suited Ange's system anyway. Besides, we only want players who want to play for Spurs and ex Chelsea players /managers always turn out to disappoint.
We move on.

We always go big or whatever term people give to the cups. We are just poor when it comes to making progress

The notion we just throw in the towel or take the cups less seriously is more rubbish.

Without a maverick player and when you can and do concede against anyone, you are just prone to losing.

I am past the point of believing in a remedy.
The sad reality is getting a cup wins you a couple of million, top 4 gets you a lot more , therefore Top 4 will always take priority over a Cup

I like this post. There's been a few people on here saying we should follow the Dortmund model.
This post describes, far more eloquently than me why we shouldn't.
The Dortmund model is essentially an academy breeding young players to go on to help other teams achieve success.
They're basically a bunch of losers who could and should achieve much more considering their fan base and catchment area.
No thanks.
Interesting.

You clearly have no idea about Dortmund as a football club, they are one of the biggest clubs which HAD been very successful in winning trophies, the only reason they changed their model was because they went bankrupt in 2005 due to very poor financial mismanagement. Bayern Munich even had to pay $2m for their payroll.

Thankfully they managed to sort themselves out and realised that it wasn't sustainable to continue to spend money like that. Their young team then actually went on and won the Bundesliga in 2011.

Now for someone who likes to criticise the way our football club is run I'm surprised you didn't know this.

Here me out . Jadon Sancho . Under 30 million and we all know from last season he’s not a terrible player , just struggling at United like MANY top players do . Better than Werner and Brennan Johnson

Much younger than Sterling though … Man Utd are also a shambles . I can think of worse options . What was the Edwards buy back clause …
I honestly think Edwards could be really good for us, but the issue is starting him and Porro on the right wing would be defensive suicide

Come to think of it that’s another issue with Sancho too. Playing with Pedro Porro requires a lot of thankless running and work rate, and it’s something our wing targets need to have.

Good point.

Brennan may not have looked like a star offensively on Monday, but he definitely helped out defensively.
