Really below average window. The floor didn’t raise as much as it needed to, at all. Okay we got a lot of outgoings but that should have been a given

We’re seriously gambling on some breakouts from our young players, as well as no injuries to our defence. Super risky
We have been trying to move Ndombele, Reggie and LoCelso for two years. It’s not a given. 2 of them haven’t gone yet.

If you think Gray, Bergvall and Odobert are a minuscule improvement over Skipp, Hojbjerg and Solomon/Gil, you need to start watching a different sport.

Put another way, that’s a group of 18, 18, and 19 year olds. Yes they seem to be big talents but he’s absolutely spot on to say it’s a big risk to rely on them to be key contributors over a full season. It is incredibly risky in the short term, even if they all turn out to be mint long term.

How do you read minuscule improvement from what he said?? Where did he use those words?? Just more myopic top fan bullshit.

What he said was:

"We’re seriously gambling on some breakouts from our young players, as well as no injuries to our defence. Super risky"

Btw, all 3 players you named were backups, so we have improvements over the backups in 2 18 year olds and a 19 year old but the actual level of the starting XI has only been improved with Solanke and as he also mentioned which you very conveniently chose to ignore in your rush to be validated as a top fan, an injury to VDV or Udogie and we're fucked again like we were last season and it still hasn't been addressed.

their current status is that of squad players and none of them are a lock for the 1st XI. Odobert is the closest which makes sense as he actually has a full season of prem football under his belt and we’re not that talented out wide.

Spurs fans are funny, everyone else is allowed to play their young prospects (Garnacho, Mainoo, Rico Lewis, Lewis Hall, Morgan Rodgers, and so many others I could name) and get their flowers for it but when it comes to your own club you start doubting immediately.

Spence is an improvement on the FB depth. Gray also gives us more depth at FB.

No denying it though, Davies at LCB is a massive step down from VDV and Dragusin is much better suited to Romero’s role of aggressive front foot CB. Not getting the depth sorted at LCB/LB might be a mistake.

Would you be saying it’s a massive risk to rely on Doue if we’d signed him?

Because Odobert is more experienced and we actually know he’s a threat at premier league level so he’s much less risky.

Was it a risk to take Dele and put him in the team based on what he showed on a pre season tour? Because Gray had the same amount of Championship football on his CV before he showed the coaching staff in pre-season that he can be in the rotation now.

When the window opened, nobody would have considered those 3 plus Solanke a respectable outcome considering our financial strength and FFP advantage....and how we bombed so alarmingly last season with no European or domestic cup interest.
Nobody.
Less than 24 hours for Levy to salvage some kind of self respect.

Edit: wasn't Bergval signed in January!

You should have really taken in what was said before you came charging at me like a bull.

He clearly said the floor has been raised slightly .

And young players given the right environment, will improve if the coach believes in them, this is nothing new, we saw it under Jol and Pochettino.

IMO Last season we were screwed mainly because Dier, Emerson, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Bryan & Solomon were found to be wholly inadequate doing what Ange wanted. What good is experience if you can’t do what the Coach wants in the first place?

Solanke is good because Richarlison cannot be relied on to stay fit.

If you look up at my posts in this thread, I’ve already spoken about my concern over the left side of defence. There’s still work to be done and we are far from the finished article.

Perhaps it is 🫵🏾YOU🫵🏾 who needs to take time and read before you start labelling others…

you know how to read right, you ignorant fuck? (word to Andy Dufrense).

The idea of Reguilon is always better than Reguilon himself..
