Lose to Coventry and the board will look to bring someone else in.

Bloke is absolutely not closing the gap.
dont think they will. think we have to lose the next 3. we just might tho. i reckon hes lost a lot of the players, he also looks like hes lost belief in himself.

we are literally just waiting for him to get sacked now, just hope its sooner rather than later and maybe we can have a good season.

Next 3 games in PL before the International break are Brentford home, Man Utd and Brighton away. The way we are playing we will be lucky to get 3 points from those 3 which would mean 7 points from 7 games. Shocking.

One tiny hope in all this is that we have midweek games coming up as well. The players playing more than once a week might give them a chance to build up some rhythm and form. Players tend to hate training and prefer playing games. This is the only potential positive I can think of ATM :ange-bored:

Thing is in 4 games no one has played well against us. They dont have too. Its kill the game and pick us off. When teams do play well against us like Fulham or Newcastle last season we get dicked. I think unless he changes something pretty dramatically, which he shows no sign of doing, then its going to become untenable quite quickly.
Yup. Teams simply don't have to work hard against us.

If you don’t score goals no team needs to play well against you. Don’t matter what tactics you play.

Our attack has no chemistry and rhythm right now. I don’t know what tactics you can play to fix that.

Teams don’t let us have the ball against them, we press well enough that we don’t give them a choice. It just makes no difference when you don’t score goals
Been that way for ages though, even if it improves you cant keep scoring 2 or 3 every game to get a result. Especially as out attack is pretty average. He needs to adopt a more horses for courses approach, try something different. Being wedded to this system and some of these players will get him sacked
and quite soon.

Don’t agree.

Changing managers is just a quick hit junky thing to do.

Naive would be expecting a different outcome to any of the other coaching changes we’ve made.

Might get some results for the early period, might temporarily give the fans something to falsely believe in but that won’t last.

And tbh we weren’t tactically naive today. We weren’t out thought tactically, we didn’t execute and we weren’t talented enough.
yes we absolutely were. As ive explained he was aware of Woolwich's weak point being the lack of runners in the middle and played a single pivot to take away our main advantage. Terrible finishing and poor last passes saved us but his 'tactics' absolutely failed. We were the home team that created next to nothing in terms of clear cut chances and next to nothing in terms of having control in key areas.

Conte, Mourinho etc would have smelt blood with the gooners lack of cms and played a double pivot to gain control of the midfield battle. Ange sees they are missing players and says "oh yeh mate ill just add 1 more attacking midfielder mate". There's no actual thought process.

Our attack has no chance of making any chemistry because we insist on taking 37 passes to get the ball to them. At which point the entire opposition are in shape there's no chance of scoring.
This is so common, so predictable, that it can't be anything other than coaching.

Watch this from Mourinho.

We see none of that anymore. We pass it side to fucking side and backwards all match and it's boring, pointless, ineffective and easy for any half decent team to defend.

Yep agree with that. It's a shame but....

I hate being right but called this once we failed to get midfield strength and a bit of experience.

But I also think another voice/tactics can make us a force.

The Solanke purchase (not sure who to blame for that) worried me intensely and yet the same myopic few dismissed my concern.

I hope Postecoglou can pull it round but the signs rarely get it wrong.

Listening to Ange's post-match presser and Sky interview... The way he keeps saying the phrase "belief and conviction" is so robotic, like a reflex action. I don't think he actually believes it.

Think we're all hurting, that was shit and pretty much everything we expected. Didn't look like a threat at all (except maybe in the first 10 minutes). I was hoping Dom would make a difference, but I struggled to see him on the pitch at all.

Hard to see what's going to change, as Ange certainly isn't. He can't really, his character is built on it.

Really, really disappointing. WTF next? I'm out of ideas and running low on hope and enthusiasm.

Honestly, wondering why TF Bergvall wasn't brought on. Timo? With 15 minutes to go? Are you on glue?

Is it possible that they are blinded by data?

There are better managers. That simple.

What's particularly gutting is that we looked well up for it. But even with all that effort, we still fucking sucked.

Our final third patterns are abysmal. Really, just playing like they've all just met. Tragic.
