Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not really. It’s totally understandable.

Surprised he hasn’t done the wanker gesture at our fans tbh!

Plus ‘there’s only one Brennan Johnson’ when he went off. One of the loudest chants today. The ground is generally a very different place to the internet.
Yeah, even if some of the shit that he got online came from trolls from other fandoms, there's no denying that there is a very reactive and vitriolic element to our online fandom.

You just have to see how some people react on here after a bad performance.

But give it your all when you play, and the fans in the stands will get behind you. Which is a mindset that more of us should adopt.

As long as I can see a player cares I’m there, right behind them.

To be honest the fans really got his back from the start today in the stadium. Also got the loudest cheer when they announced the line ups before kick off. Hope it shows him that the social media trolls are not real fans and that we will back him as long as he gives everything for the shirt.
Yep was great to be a part of and showed the poisonous cunts in here what real fans are like

Folk really shocked that people don't behave in anonymous digital spaces as they do in real life?...I'd like to think Johnson is smarter than that. As for all the laurels for the wonderful support, a full blown scuffle broke out around me in that same ground by people appalled by the things being shouted at Davinson Sanchez. Shout out to the characters that treated Emerson like dog poo in person as well. My advice to any pro is treat ALL of it including the singing of your name like the imposter it is . And the older fans can tell you there's always been people prepared to be abusive at the matches. David Howells ,Doherty Pratt, Mitchell Thomas, all got it. Twitter didn't invent those fans

Lively thread all of a sudden, people on here who don't rate this player are being called poisonous cunts, all because of a goal, by people claiming to hate "non constructive criticism" of a millionaire who will never read the posts on this forum.

Btw, I've been at many more a game where his first touch or decision is greeted with a groan and rightly so but I guess a goal in the sunshine against the mighty Brentford is enough to magically give a player the technical ability required to start for a top 6 team.

A lot of people posting online hate are probably just random dickheads not Spurs fans, but there's a reactionary element to every fanbase ofc.

I didn’t see anything different from normal from him. Took his goal well but he he missed a similar chance moments earlier. Crossing was poor as usual.

He got a lot of chants from the crowd backing him, he just needs to get on with it now.

Dickheads behind me were chanting some nonsense about him being lightweight when the rest of the stadium was singing his name

You don't have to like him or rate him. But you also could just STFU in the ground and keep it to yourself. He's scored 2 very important goals with quality finishes this week. Give him a fucking break.
