Match Man Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur | Sunday 29 September | Old Trafford

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Huge game and they are there for the taking 100%. Need to be clinical.
I would take Son out atm - he has been really poor and looked totally fucked yesterday and injured or close to injury.
Sitting a game or even two out might be good for him.

..........And replace him with who?

Very true, I carried on studying, just not lose or loose - more centralised vs. de-centralised models of government (it got me a job in Argos)

I finished school on the Friday and, outside of work based exams, haven't been in any form of education since 1997.
What I meant was, I haven't stopped trying to learn. People often think they are what their exam results were. Mine were appalling. I was an immature 15 year old with absolutely no one in my life to push me to study, so I didn't.
I left school with a comment from a teacher saying I might do well in a menial job somewhere. I wasn't badly behaved or anything, but didn't really "bother" at school.
If you'd asked me in the 90's what the difference was between lose, loose, there, their etc, I wouldn't have cared and possibly couldn't have answered.
Some, for some reason, choose to stay that way . I have no idea why really.
Sorry, boring story.

Are you talking about that morbidly obese fucking disgusting fat piece of shit
Yes, that ugly alcoholic drug addict that shames our species every time he opens his mouth.
I think this is him?

As posted previously 4 players have played a lot. Rotation does not just apply to cup games and we need rotation in this match. Ideally we would start the same 11 as per Brentford but I think we need to rest at least 2 of the most played 4. As Drag cannot play Thursday I suggest we rest VDV. Son hopes to be fit but it is not in his interest to play a substantial amount of mins and should be on the bench. Some posters are going for Spence which makes sense but I think Udogie will play the first half. I think Solanke will have to play again but not the full 90 mins.

I know many will want Moore to start if Son does not but I expect Werner to start and whilst he is the weakest link, he was better last season than this and can improve. Will Biss start? If so it should be instead of Kula who should get on in the 2nd half.

I think all results are likely and unless something like a red card occurs will be a tight game.

How am I seeing free hit?. About Man Utd in 2024.. Firstly, if you want to have any hope of being a champions league side this year, there's no such thing as a free hit. Chelsea, Villa and Newcastle won't even be treating the Etihad or Anfield as a nice little day out, let alone Old Trafford.

Also when you throw away the points we have already, you take away the luxury of a free hit. We can't go into this international break 8 or 9 points off of the likes of Villa. That wouldn't mean that the seasons a write off. But it'd be a bit of a nightmare.

I don't think the poster really meant it the quite the way most have taken it. The rest of their post goes uphill and is pretty much what everyone is saying "they are very beatable and we need the points".

As a long-time Manure hater, I'm used to losing there and so I say we absolutely have to dominate this game and would only be happy with a draw if we're 3-0 down at half time.

I think it'll be 3-1 to us, though.

It'll be that dribbling fucking idiot Merson who's most likely.
Slightly off-topic I know, but perhaps the stupidest thing he has ever said was, on Soccer Saturday I believe:

"No chance, if they win that game I'll eat your hat".

Now, I'm far from being an expert in old sayings (or hat eating), but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to eat your own hat in that scenario. If you lose the bet, and have to eat your hat, the bet 'winner' gets to watch what I expect would be quite a humorous spectacle. If however the loser ate the winner's hat, that humorous spectacle would presumably be significantly tempered for the winner by them having to sacrifice their own hat, which would seem very unfair given that they won the bet.

So anyway yes Merson is a complete moron.

P.S. RE: the game, United have been far worse than us recently in terms of the football - I'll be a bit disappointed if we don't edge it, though of course anything can happen in a single game so won't be remotely surprised if we lose. Would probably reluctantly take a point. Head says we win 2-1, heart says 1-1, bookies say they are marginal favourites, so fuck knows.

Praying that this is the game we finally see something that gives us some hope for the season ahead. Something to build on and hold on to. So far there has been a few glimpses but nothing solid.
Just think we will come up short defensively and won’t create in the final 3rd… 3-1 loss

It’s been a good week for the team, but I still feel like we need a big win. It’s been too long since we took a genuine scalp.

I just always expect to get fucked over at Old Trafford.

Merson's famous "come what February" is my fave. Such a fuckwit.

We should get something from this game in my opinion.

They're no better than we are. We always concede, but they're having a problem scoring and haven't scored more than 1 in the league since last year (apart from Southampton who are woeful)

I am expecting a point. 1-1

Whenever we talk about opponents form dipping, it rarely means we'll get an easier ride...
It's where Dr Tottenham phrase comes into play...

Look at the lead up to Chelsea LAST season... they were there for the taking...

and Newcastle and Woolwich with all their injuries THIS season... Look what happened!

I've come to the conclusion, that when we're involved, it's NEVER a good time to play ANYONE!!
