It happens. It's happening.

When did England last win a major tournament? No doubt that's ENIC or Levy's fault as well.
Mate....Conte and Mourinho won at every single club they've managed.

BOTH failed to win a single pot between them working ENIC / Levy. For the one and only time in BOTH their careers.

Levy openly stated he only became involved in football to profit from it's global popularity. And he's backed that up by getting very wealthy as our team comes up short whichever manager he appoints.

For all your good intentions, you're coming across as someone who is utterly in denial of the facts that are staring you point blank in the face.

Much hilarity in this thread disguised as levelheadedness … there is no normality in football . It’s insanity , you can clap on the insanity of a football team being successful or you can clap on the side of a business and corporate

Those blaming ENIC/Levy for today are overlooking the fact we spent more than Palace. Therefore by their reasoning if all it takes is spending money then how come we lost to Palace.
Levy does not pick the players but he does the Manager with others and in which case do they support sacking the Manager and who that is available would they employ?

Football isn’t linear. Man City have lost to Palace before despite spending the UN aid budget on wages, all teams in the premier league have relatively decent players and in football bad performances happen.

The concerning aspect is that some of the players tend to be good when we are good and bad when we are bad so we are more vulnerable for this kind of issue. Now that is the blame of ENIC (ambition in the transfer market for more elite players), the manager (for limiting this aspect his side), the players (for not being able to mentally improve themselves).

We're just a nice stadium now. On the football side they've returned us to pretty much what they came into. Average, mediocre, beige. A few half decent players but mainly a load of 6 out of 10s with a succession of poor or unsuitable managers. They are out of ideas, stale and seemingly struggling to show much interest or having the first clue how to drag us out of this 6 years of mediocrity.

Mission complete

Conte was right with what he said. Obviously I'll and probably depressed but undoubtedly right. But we closed ranks around the club in theory but ENIC in fact and will end up going through the cycle again, even if Ange gets us CL or a cup.

Man City occasionally lose to teams who spend a lot less but it averages out over the season. Otherwise they would still be the same Man City we remember growing up.

I think Ange deserves support this season just in case he has some mad vision the rest of us don't get to see on match days. Beyond that I don't care who comes in as manager if we are still being run by the same swindlers.

It’s not the spending - it’s the complete lack of strategy and leadership from the midget bald newt

Oof

I wonder how Daniel honestly appraises himself. He is no fool. Clearly he has had some huge achievements, perhaps despite himself. Especially so from a financial point of view.

But For 5 years now (& maybe the rot started 7 years ago) Everything he has touched has gone wrong. He can’t look in the mirror and be happy with this surely ?

From Jose to Mason. From Ndombele to Lo Go Slow. He has overseen one absolute fuck up after another. It’s become absolutely chronic.

Even the NFL stuff was a fuck up (two games a year for fuck sake. Why would anyone add hundreds of millions in debt for a two game a season deal? ) I digress.

Back to football, he has got the club into a cycle of decline and like water going down the plug hole it’s just spinning and draining away. There is no plug.

He now surrounds himself with a load of mediocre suits. Ever less known. Ever more ineffective with each change.

Tottenham end up with Ange as ENIC literally could not find anyone else who would work with them. He was and is an inadequate manager for this club. He has nothing of credibility sitting behind him. How is a deeply unhealthy over weight 60 year old man a good fit for an elite professional sporting environment?

Would Amazon be interested these days ? Would the Super League come calling ? Do the Premier League still give a shit about Levy economics and FFP, it seems unlikely.

Sad and tragic at this point. The man was no fool. But cannot stop foolish decisions.

A shame really, as his story will now be about the almost. And that has no echo of glory on this occasion. Just lost moment and I suspect regret. Wealth will comfort him, but I don’t think history will.

He looks at the bank statements

And then Chuckles uncontrollably to himself in front of a mirror for 4 hours straight

Then he logs onto the fighting cock and laughs some more as he sees all the brave soldiers on here defending his every action

That’s your view. Given the enormous financial wealth he’s earned for himself and Enic, it’s not how anybody around him would view him.

He and those around him will think his shit doesn’t smell.

I doubt he loses a second of sleep over the football failings . If those failings screwed the business model he might need some Ovaltine or Horlicks , as it is instead of counting sheep he is counting 50 pound notes in his head and sleeping like a baby .

But he’s overseen the loss of millions, while making millions, which I guess is just fine with him. But only because he seems accountable only to himself.
