I disagree on the "Villa are better than us, they are going to finish above us" bit. I think if we beat them this weekend then we have every chance of finishing above them.

Knocking City out will be great but its a midweek round of 16 EFL cup game. I don't think the club will change their approach based off who they are playing. Its an unlucky cup draw but I'd be shocked if we go full strenght and I'd be even more shocked if Man City did too. Both teams will rotate
 
Win on Wednesday and Sunday and the whole outlook looks completely different. I think we are in for a very inconsistent season where we will think we are getting somewhere then it all comes crashing down with a Brighton or Palace result. We are close to being a very good team but still so far away. Ability wise we have got some cracking players but the mentality is not there to be a big club challenging for honours.

Sounds about right.....

Cups just make more sense to me atm though.... Less reliant upon consistency.

Come on mate, we are not better than Aston Villa. They have better team and a better manager than us .

We have 3 tough games coming up, city,villa and Galatasry.
We could get a result or two, but if it's equally likely the team loses all 3 games.
If that happens, the place will get toxic very quickly.
 
Villa drew 1-1 at home to Bournemouth this week and drew with Ipswich a few weeks back. They aren't exactly flying. On a going day we can definitely beat them. Just depends what Tottenham show up.

Surprised everyone here seems to think Villa are way better than us.
 
I thought we'd played our "best XI" on Sunday, and got beaten By Palace!

Maybe our BEST XI is our second XI after all!!

Although Ange does mislead selection details to the press he said he would treat it like previous matches. He then said he cannot try harder in one game to another which is contradictory. Whilst I want a strong team that does not mean no changes as Udogie needs a rest & Moore should not play again. However I do want Vic to play and kula, Solanke & VDV.

4 changes but Sarr is in because Maddison & Kula is not strong enough and the difference between Biss & Bentencur is not much.
