Competition Carabao Cup

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our progress will depend on the team Ange puts out. Strongish team like last night we should be favourites but too many changes or injuries then we will be in trouble.

8 games between 23/11 and 17/12. Including Ranges, City and Chelsea. All of which you’d expect to be high intensity games.

Liverpool the Sunday after we play United too.

Chances are Ange will have squad decisions being made for him due to injuries / suspensions.

Suspect given we play Southampton at the ridiculously late 7:15pm on the Sunday before it’s more likely that both our QF and Liverpool’s will be on the Wednesday 18th rather than the Tuesday

Our luck with domestic cup draws is terrible - fuck me Woolwich get Preston then a home game against Palace. Liverpool did well to win at a tough ground last night so I can’t begrudge them Southampton away - very jealous though.

Barcodes getting Brentford - if we get through we absolutely need to be drawn against the winner of that one. We won’t though, that will be Woolwich, we will have to play the Scousers.

I wish they would wait a day for the draw - give teams the chance to celebrate before finding out they’ve got another tough assignment

Have to wait for Sky to make a decision on day & KO time but if Tuesday it will mean more rotation and thus a poorer game.
It’s already guaranteed to be Wednesday, it simply cannot be the Tuesday regardless of the TV companies as we kick off at 7:15 on the Sunday night.

The reason why you had 2 of the 8 games this week on the Tuesday and 6 on the Wednesday is because all 6 Wednesday games featured sides that had played on the Sunday and therefore could not play Tuesday

As good as guaranteed that if we're gonna win this we'll have to beat Man C, Man U, Arse & Dippers all in a row.........

.........That would be an all-time cup run.

Just wanted a home draw as our home and away from is like chalk and cheese. Fancy us strongly to beat united at home and don't think it's the worst draw

I was really having a go that tv stations and in particular Sky dictate when matches are played. 8-15 last night.

Palace play on the Sunday before they play Woolwich, so the Carabao should be a Weds? However, no way will Woolwich and Spurs play home matches on the same midweek day. They then play each other again on the 5.30 Saturday game, so imagine they can't play the Carabao game on the Thursday either?

Bit of a pickle all this.

Switch our game to the Sat evening - moving the Sat evening game to the Sun evening.

We'll play the Tues.

Boom!

Spurs fixtures :

Thursday 12 December @ 20.00 - EL - Rangers v Spurs (first game after International break)
Sunday 15 December @ 19.00 - PL - Southampton v Spurs
?????/ w/c 16 December - Carabou - Spurs v Man U
Sunday 22 December @ 16.30 - PL - Spurs v Liverpool

Solution A
As it stands, playing the ManU game on Tuesday, gives Spurs only 48 hours after our Southampton match. Very tight turnround

Moving the Southampton game back to Saturday, equally only gives 48 hours after the Rangers match.

So only way it really works is to move the EL Rangers match back a day to Wednesday, the PL game v Southampton back to Saturday evening and then Carabou match v ManU could be on Tuesday.

BUT that means :
1) Getting agreement of both UEFA/EL to move Rangers match and PL to move Southampton match
2) Getting TV companies agreement to the various moves.
3) Looking to see whether ManU can play on Tuesday without similar matches being moved

Solution B
OR seeing whether police and other agencies (eg underground network) can resource both Spurs and Woolwich playing at home on Wednesday. (Answer is probably no ?)

Solution C
OR asking PL to move the Notts Forest (26 Dec) back to Wednesday (otherwise used to play Carabou matches) with Spurs v ManU Carabou match on Wednesday a week later than other matches. Plus YV companies to agree of course.

No easy solutions.
