It truly is. That was our chance to put us in the mix and see what's happens after the break. They've had one job today: start strong, get an early goal and see Ipswich crumble and fall apart.
I understood why we lost some early season games despite playing well, I understood we can sometimes stumble like a Palace game.

Well that was a shit result, made Ipswich look good but they did turn up and fought well for their victory. Had we equalised I'm really not sure we'd have deserved it. Only positive is if they suddenly pick up their game and Palace or West Ham drop below them. Ange being tactically out performed by McKenna doesn't bode well.

Not only that, but to let a 2 goal lead slip against Brighton a couple of weeks ago is a sackable offence.

I say mid table because we buy players like Johnson and get a second loan for the likes of Werner. We’ve never spent money to push on.
I do however agree with you big time in one way, a competent manager of a PL level would get this team playing better than they are and to be more than the sum of its parts.

He does seem very basic on the coaching & tactical side. Get away with it in Scotland with the best players in the league. But not here. Will never be a disaster with him as he has good some good attributes . But it’s quite limited.
