Absolutely NO one before today has lost to Ipswich ... To to 'expect' to isn't exactly being realistic!

It's not like we're pissed off about losing away to City as and when we do... That IS expected!

We coulda been 3rd tonight with the way results went...
But that would merely be papering over the cracks, so maybe a blessing in disguise.

We're not even flat track bullies anymore, not after gifting Winless Palace and Ipswich their 'expected wins'!!
The biggest issue for me is that we can play like we did against Man City and Aston Villa but produce the dross like against Palace and today .
For me it is all about mentality , from manager through to coaching staff and obviously the players .
For me it's mostly on the players , there is no way that the coaching staff set up to play so meekly .
The players showed no heart today and no passion in front of their own fans and that simply isn't good enough .
What's the answer , well plenty saying get rid of Ange , but does that really sort the problem , next bloke up has to solve the same issue , complacency . Sure Ange has to do things better , his subs today have me scratching my head .
It's a rot within the club , from the top down , no winners mentality .

They're not going to make a change in the international break.

However, what they should be doing is laying groundwork in case a change needs to be made eventually. Whoever they think would be an ideal candidate (God knows who they'd be thinking of), there should be some whispers going on in the background. We know it happens everywhere, we did it for months with Mourinho before we eventually brought him in.

If they're just keeping their fingers in their ears and saying we're all in, come what may. That is incompetence. They need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Somebody who doesn't mind developing and moving along talent like Levy, with the chance of hitting a nice run once in awhile and doing something- a lot like Dortmund do. I think somebody like Potter is probably the best fit coach for Levy long-term.

At this point with him being available and Ange being found out, I'm interested to see it tried out on a caretaker basis.

Says a lot that I was dead against Potter for a long time.
But he'd definitely be an upgrade. We'd massively tighten up at the back with some actual tactics and management, rather than someone saying "it's who we are mate"
My worry with Potter is his teams always have loads of possession and rarely score. People blamed his players at Brighton and Chelsea, but they both scored more after he went.

We have City (A), Fulham (H), Bournemouth (A), Chelsea (H), Southampton (A) and Liverpool (H) on December 22nd. I bet my left nut we’ll be bottom half by Christmas.

That's a truly shocking run of fixtures.
I'd say if he came through that with 10 points he's done really well.

But he won't. I can see the players downing tools now.

In our last 5 league matches, we’ve lost 3-2 at Brighton after leading 0-2. We’ve handed the first and only wins of the season to Bottom 3 sides Crystal Palace and Ipswich. It is our worst start to a season over first 11 games since we were bottom in 2008/09.

That all adds up to playing crap in my book.
You are entitled to your opinion but, IMO, we did not play crap today.
Individual players made mistakes.
Passes were misplaced. We had a goal disallowed.
Sonny could have had a couple of assists in the first 15 minutes.
Ange made poor subs.

Yeah, it's the timeline BEFORE Fergie left that is where the comparison ends...

It's not like Ange has 15 years of relentless and multiple trophy wins to have to live up to, is it?
i was more thinking about all the players that come and left spurs
as example moore and lankshear dont really seems worst then richarlison and werner
i know conte was a cunt but he pointed out that too many players and staff /owners are just too ok after playing shit

You would like to think, the club might have a rethink about bringing some experience the next couple of windows.
But it won't make any difference, probably find we are trying to bring a 9 year old in, and hope he develops in 15 years time.

I don't think it would be an in season change. You would have to find someone who could adjust the system that is in place. It would take time to unlearn what is a unique system. As long as you're in hailing distance of the top four I think you have to stay the course.

Just got home from the game. If he keeps picking Johnson then he is going to get what’s coming to him.

However, the players aren’t good enough. Levy is fucking over another one and once Ange is sacked we’ll go through this all again with the next guy. I’m bored of it tbh.

here's his post game comments

What went wrong today?
We didn't start the game well at all. It was all sort of passive, without the ball, with the ball. I felt we didn't get the tempo right or intensity right and then we gave ourselves a mountain to climb. Second half we were in the ascendancy and had opportunities obviously but we didn't do enough with them.

You've said you don't think there's recurring themes in matches but it does feel like falling behind at home is one during your time here, is that an issue?
They're all different sorts of scenarios. When we went behind against Villa we were playing well. We weren't playing well today. So you've got to look at in isolation today, it was a different scenario for me. I don't think it was anything like last time. We gave ourselves too much of a deficit to try to overcome. Obviously second half we had the opportunities to do that, but we should never have been in that position.

Why are you having these games where you're more passive than usual, like at Palace?
That's down to me. That's my responsibility. The inconsistency we're having this year, ultimately it comes down to me and my approach and something I need to try and fix and see if I can help the players in that area.

Is the squad struggling to deal with the constant Thursday-Sunday amount of games?
I shouldn't think so. I don't think so. If we were seeing that we'd probably feel it more at the end of games and we're not feeling it at the end of games. We're finishing games strongly. We can't start games like that at this level and expect to overcome the gap that exists between us and the other teams.

Any complaints with the time wasting as the fans got wound up by that?
Look I think it's the way the Premier League is going. It's pretty strategic now. You can almost look at your clock around the 20-minute mark and some player will go down, they'll all come over to coach and get instructions. It's funny I always liked the Premier League because it wasn't like that. You would watch teams play in Europe and get frustrated by it, but now it's part of the game here as well. Nothing we can do about it. For us, if we want to mitigate those things because we don't do it and we want the game to be played, then we shouldn't give opportunities for the opposition to do that.

Can I check on Pape Matar Sarr's injury and Dominic Solanke seemed to pick something up in the first half and played on?
I think Pape is all right. He just got a bit of a knock. Dom jarred his knee, it was pretty sore but he wanted to continue. Hopefully it is nothing serious.

6 points from the last 12.
Was generally accepted that 12 from 12 was doable.

Said I thought 6 was the minimum so think Ange is hanging on in there.

Next 4

City (a)
Fulham (H)
Bournemouth (a)
Chelsea (h).

6 points would be acceptable. I wouldn’t be surprised to get less though. Fuck knows what happens at the Etihad. Then we really need to show up against Fulham at home.

Problem is 6 points from those 4 and we are definitely in the realms of a season of mid table mediocrity.

worried most about southampton after these games

My issue with Ange is principally how he conducts himself. I just dislike him.

I do not blame him, at all, for the broader state of this club. He’s just the latest fall guy.

I don't care whether Ange stays or goes - anyone would struggle under the Levy regime and the buying.

We had two managers who had world-class CVs (granted both played awful football). Neither won anything, although Jose is the bigger 'what if' as he was sacked six days before a cup final, which was and is a baffling decision, one I can only assume made to save some cash somewhere.

I would also question whether anyone serious would come in at this point in the season.

Personally thought 9 pts was minimum. You cant get much of an easier run of fixtures as West H, Villa, Ipswich at home and Palace away. Should really have been 10 or 12 pts if we have any aspiration of top 5. Think the league season is highly likely to be a write off by the time Liverpool is over. We've pissed our easy-ish start away.

The alternative to Johnson is the injured Odoburt. Johnson is pretty much the only player we have for that role.
