I admire his confidence too, though he does stray into sloppy arrogance at times. Aussie sportspeople are known for their stubborn competitiveness so I guess it's to be expected.
What I admire is that he believes in what he is doing even when it appears to everyone else that he is failing.
I honestly thought he was toast as I watched the away game at Coventry in September. It was abject and as bad a performance as I can remember from any Spurs side; ever.
Spurs literally scored 2 goals in two minutes and did nothing else of note.
Brennan was on his arse and then scored a stack of goals. I think that just having Solanke in the starting 11 has made a huge difference for players like Brennan.
We also have lots of quality in midfield.
It's the defence that is letting Spurs down. We all know it.
I haven't been a fan of Romero since his Champions League sending off. Conte, for all his faults, seemed to lay a lot of blame at Romero's feet for several defeats.
I think Conte was right about Romero.
Whoever plays at right back, since Romero joined the club, has had problems and become unpopular very quickly.
I think Romero has ability but struggles to communicate, inspire and lead others. I suspect he wants a move and is attempting to force this through.
Levy and Spurs should replace Romero and let him go. Dragusin is sadly not good enough.
I think Vicario and Porro are also playing a part in Spurs defensive problems.
Ange should have picked Spence for the Europa team and he should have started Spence against Ipswich or at least brought him on at half time.
