When it's an open game he's shown now he can go toe to toe with anyone. Now the question is can he figure out how to get results when it's an all out battle or when it's a narrow low block.
I think that's what he alluded to after the Ipswich game... Tbf he did lay a LOT of the blame at his own door, rather than go full Jose and throw individual players under the bus!
My wager is that he'll work it out by Sunday!
It’s a massive difference when we can fit both Kulu and Maddison in, and the one that drops out for me is Johnson.
I’ve no wish to criticise Johnson and not having a go at him, but there’s one of two things he does very well I.e arriving late to finish at the back post. It was great to see him have that purple patch a few weeks back.
However if I’m picking a team, Kulusevski makes it in ahead of Johnson every time for me as he just adds so much more to every aspect of our all round play.
I agree... Kulu and Maddison both feature in what I perceive as our 'strongest' XI...
Johnson does not
No coincidence that both
Werner and Johnson combined so well for the 4th goal at City...
Werner doing what HE does best, (running fast) and Johnson playing to HIS strengths... (Right place, right time!)
If that's the other way round, Johnson might not make the same cross, but even if he did, Werner would most likely scoop it over the bar from 3cms out!!
It was actually a perfect combo for them both, and the ideal way to demonstrate that SOME of Ange's substitutions
can work a treat!
Fulham at home in the league Sunday after a home game in the ropey league, so no travel sickness.
Fulham just got absolutely tonked after a good run of form. They're either about to fall off a cliff, or come back swinging. Either way, we need to be fully prepared for the latter. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
We're all thinking it.... But if they can't take confidence from Saturday, and still haven't learnt from the 2nd half at Brighton, away at Palace and home to Ipswich by now, then there's no hope!
Pretty much the rule of 3... We've almost completed the 'imperfect hat-trick'... NOW IS the time to learn from all 2
1/2 games... Which I genuinely think we will!!
