I think someone that can coach a more defensive brand of football. I think we’re, ironically, better setup to play five at the back. Conte had the right idea but was an explosive Italian wally who was never going to succeed in our peculiar setting.

We just don’t have the players or squad to deliver Ange’s idea of football. We’ll have moments here and there, but it can’t be maintained over a season.

There are just too many good sides about these days. Our brand of mediocrity isn’t going to cut it.

That said, broadly speaking, I’m not sure it will make a huge difference.

We'd all like this but what name are you thinking?

Or how about we buy some attacking players and another quick CB so that we can execute this high risk system! Rather than accepting our squad isn't good enough so best compromise is Conte 5 ATB plodding.

Disagree in this instance.

Ange finished 5th last season, and we'll be around similar again this season. Ange hasn't underperformed with the squad he has at his disposal. By suggesting that is the case, it reduces the onus to invest big in Jan.
We finished 5th because of that great start. We wont finish 5th this season, no chance. Teams that cant win 2 or 3 on the trot dont get in the top 5 or 6.

Broadly since game 11 last season we're a 7th to 9th team. Thats 41 games, a pretty big sample size. This is it. Mostly mediocre with the odd good or terrible game in between. There will never be consistancy with this football

I just dont think he's that good a manager, certainly not good enough to be in a league where every single match is a test.

We've not won 3 league games on the trot for 12 months now. This calender year we've only won 2 on the trot on 2 occasions. Thats the sort of shite we havent seen for 15/20 years.

Bournemouth away, Chelsea and Liverpool home 3 of our next 4. I mean you never know with us but can see him being bang in trouble very shortly.
You know what a good manager looks like you've seen the good the bad and the utter frauds. I hate to break it to a few here but you are 100% correct. The man is a decent emotionally intelligent guy but he is not particularly bright and he has been hugely over promoted. Have a look at the Celtic game yesterday ( when you stop laughing) ask yourself if this is preparation for the EPL.

Of all Levy's many utter balls ups Ange over Arne Slot is starting to look like the absolute peak of idiocy. 30 million on Dragusin when you wouldn't pay Feynoord the 12 million compensation. Silva, Iraola, Alonso. Anyone of them would be better. I 100% belive this man is less tactically able than Nuno. We've dropped a complete brick.

There are plenty who don’t think he’s good enough either. Spence wasn’t good enough for the previous manager either whose system depended in wing-backs.
People need to face up to the fact it might be because he just isn’t very good.

I’ve just been told that he’s got a new contract so someone rates him?

Well truth be told I went and saw a clairvoyant

I'd probably understand a tiny bit more if you said Iraola as he's kinda proved that he can beat big teams and coach a consistent play style but Marco Silva is such a weird choice.

I think though there's so many interchangeables to managing this football club, its just not about tactics or subs or playstyle, it's also about managing upwards and the expectations and the pressure that comes with it not to mention the fans are at the end of their tether and don't have the patience for yet another rebuild.

The reality is that we will be back to square one, unless there's a Xabi Alonso or Nagelsmann or Inzagi ready to join I don't see anything changing soon.

Out fans just need to accept that we're not Tottenham 2017 version and start living in the reality.
