Match *** Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham Sunday 1st Dec 1:30 GMT ****

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Its the extreme high intensity thats injuring players. Burning them out imo.

I’d be the first to say that most nuances of modern football tactics are completely beyond my understanding. But watching us ( mostly on TV in a pub it must be said , with the occasional live game) : The team just doesn’t ( to my uninformed eyes at least) seem to be playing at such a
« high intensity « most of the time.

I understand that the « intensity « might be more mental than physical ; so maybe that’s why they’re burning out .

Like I said ; I probably don’t know enough about it .

We'll get done by Bournemouth and then Chelsea.
2 very well coached sides. The Chelsea game could well be humiliating tbh.

It's not even that we didn't win today that bugs me, it's the start line up, lack of reaction and awful lack of effort from everyone except the keeper.

Absolutely bizarre how people call him a genius for overseeing a win against (an utterly wank) man city but then blame the players when we lose.
Football fans are reactionary... my view of Ange hasn't changed with great wins or terrible losses.

Your point about inconsistency could apply to either the players or squad or both.

Imo Angeball is a risky style of play with a high ceiling but low floor. If we buy elite level players this style could really click and we'd be challenging right at the very top... but if not we will be see-sawing every week like this.
On the other hand, a more defensive style of play could see us be more consistent with our current squad, but no real hope of achieving much even if we improved our squad. Days of Jose and Conte's style dominating PL is over.

You know me mate, I'm not the most keen to stick the boot in, but for every occasion where Ange has had undue stick for not having a plan B and there were multiple instances of him succesfully changing things to gain points; there's a growing casebook of examples of where he's made an utter mess of the final 3rd of the game.
I can’t disagree with anything you’re saying, mate. Ultimately, I think Ange won’t be here next season unless he improves this aspect of his management. Based on his words and actions so far, I struggle to see that happening. I just watched his press conference, and honestly, I’m baffled by what he’s seeing in these games.

He reminds me so much of AVB in terms of his stubborn adherence to his system. That’s his prerogative, of course, but I fear it’ll cost him his job if he continues down this path.

That said, he has received some undue criticism at times, and there have been instances where he’s made effective changes that secured us points. Unfortunately, those moments have been too few and far between.

What’s frustrating is that I really don’t want another managerial search—it was exhausting last time. Part of me feels tempted to just stick with Ange and see what happens in the long term, but personally, I don’t think that will end well for the club

But other trans with far less resources like Brighton still play good football. It’s not just about buying elite level players although that helps but coaching a style and working with players is just as important.

Angebois reactively defend him no matter how many shite results we get.
He's a dud. I was willing to cut him slack with our injury problems but everyone was so poor today he's failed as a coach. And that's on top of leaving not only our best player, but one of the leagues on the bench. Kulu is the strongest and fittest player in our squad. He had to start.
Everyone watching the game could see we weren't playing well but no chances at all until late on.

Tbh the amount of injuries we have what can we expect?
Effort.

Brighton wanted Ange as their manager, let's not forget.
Brighton are also incredibly inconsistent- and we saw how European football took a toll on them last season because squad wasn't good enough. Our squad depth isn't great either.

Supporters watch their team and do actually care about the results. You’ve just said you don’t do either.

Why do you want a voice to speak about a team you don’t watch and results you don’t care about?
Get a grip.....I didnt watch this one game...
I didn't realise I had to watch every second of every game or I wasn't allowed an opinion...
And yes I have lost interest in results recently like many others on here, because we all know what's coming.....one decent performance or result followed by some bang average or completely pathetic performances over the next couple of games...so get ready for them to actually turn up in midweek v Bournemouth..........

I just read his post match quotes where he's basically using injuries as an excuse for the drop off on performance and result after City game.

* After the 0-3 away win vs United we lost to Brighton.

* After the 4-1 win against Spammers we lost to Crystal Palace.

*After the 4-1 win against Villa we lost to Ipswich.

* After the 0-4 win against City we drew to Fulham.

When you're missing more than half your team through injury and suspension it is actually a proper crisis. Gooners had one player injured and their levels dropped.

I think in this specific instance it's fair for the manager to suggest injuries are part of the reason for a drop off between beating Man Ciry, drawing against Roma and then Fulham inside 7 days.

But we have spent money and some big transfers. That recruitment has created the squad we have today. If we recruited with a bit more intelligence we have been in a better position.
Nah. Until they start paying premium wages this is not changing. Transfer fees are an accounting / management / PR tool. The real metric is wages. Adama is sitting on Fulham’s bench because they are paying him more than Spurs would. Crude but simple example.

Focusing on single games for manager comparisons isn't rational. That would lead to bizarre conclusions throughout the season given up and down nature of football.
The Q is whether Silva or McKenna would do better over a season with our squad... and I don't think so. It's so obvious to me that the real issue is the squad.

They probably would. Silva is definitely a better coach than Ange.

All I will say on 1882 1882 is that he is Jewish himself and has always been of the opinion that Spurs get more stick, criticism and trolling etc than other clubs because of the Jewish connection.

He has always defended the use of 'Yid' and it's derivatives in relation to Spurs fans.

Sounds like he just went off on one and went too far.

A big loss to the forum in my opinion.

Mrs Perryman Mrs Perryman

This excusing of the racist outburst is every bit as bad as the racism itself.

Anyone with Antisemitic leanings, or feels the needs to excuse anti-Semitism needs to fuck off to West Ham or Chelsea where they belong.
Racism is never okay. I don't friggin care if that mug was mad at that result, it's actually even more friggin pathetic when it's about a friggin football game!!! But don't let that fool youse folks, that dude is racist every min of every day. It's like dudes who act all violent when drunk and pretend it's just the booze...nah blue, you're a violent cunt when sober, you just don't let it out the same.

Hope he feels proper ashamed of himself...but likely won't. Racist pricks are clueless, ignorant cunts who rarely feel accountable for their lame ass words or actions...always someone else's fault.

They probably would. Silva is definitely a better coach than Ange.
Silva comes across as a horrible bastard imho. Ange comes across as delusional. Neither works well for me. But then I never understood the hate for George Graham ( Woolwich thing aside of course ) having gone through Gerry the Mullet’s era I always thought GG at least had a roguish charm. 😂
