Unless Levy is going to America to personally beg Pochettino to come back and apologise for not treating him right I don’t see the point of sacking Ange. All comments on Irola, Potter and Frank just make me laugh. We are a horrible club to manage, Irola would probably be crying into his cap after 18 months with us and the fans wanting him out.

Pochettino has his flaws but when it comes to improving players he is a one off. Last season Chelsea where a shambles, by the end of of the season they won five in a row and their kids looked fixed, Mascara inherited a fixed Chelsea due to Pochettino. There is no manager better at upgrading young players and that is what we have young players.
When it became clear Conte was disinterested in January 2023 i thought we should bring Poch back. We've had 2 or 3 opportunities to do so and havent for whatever reason. Wouldnt be adverse now but cant see it. As for the others who knows? Its not an exact science, its as much about luck as judgement as long as you avoid the real duffers. Who would have thought Redknapp would take us from bottom to a champions league quarter final in just over 2 years. Poch himself had done an ok job at Espanyol but left them in the relegation zone and done pretty well at Southampton. Is that any different to Iraola?

To be fair Redknapp was an extreme talented manager, he made West Ham actually good which is remarkable, was well happy when we got him, he is also a master of working with whatever he has got. I don’t see any of the managers we are linked with remotely Redknapp level.

exactly, these stupid hipster choices. They'd all be calling them out of the depth after 12 months

I was very happy when we got him, always liked his sides but no one thought he'd get us into the champions league within 18 months. Some managers just click at certain places.

I think disheartened is a more accurate term than disinterested. When it became clear to him that the club never matched his winning ambition and ethos he realised he was not competing just against our rivals on the football pitch but a rotten, fetid losing ethos within the club permeating from the boardroom down.
One day he'll be remembered as a Spurs legend for that final truth laden interview.

I hate this bollocks so much. Jol did, Redknapp did, Poch did it's not all about trophies, all these guys made us a top 2/3 team in the league.

Never got the Jol praise personally. We used to let a lot of leads slip under him. Couple months ago I watched a re run on sky of that 4-3 West Ham game under him. The level of football was dreadful. Couldn’t string two passes together. A lot of hitting the ball long to no one.awful touches left and right. Actually shocked me how bad the level was. With any manager it’s not going to be a straight upward curve. Poch had bed spells at the start. Redknapp maybe but only because he started at the bottom of the league. Of course it’s ENIC, how could it not be

Excerpt from a recent article I read about doom-mongers.
"Look, people will always say what they want to say, and that's the beauty of our game, people's opinions are what make it tick. But the cool part for us is that we get to go out and, hopefully, prove these people wrong.

"And maybe we did, maybe we didn't - but we certainly feel like we're going in the right direction. We're really proud of our group and where we're heading into a really big year."

Levy does not give a shit he knows we are to lazy and apathetic to make life truly uncomfortable for him . I admit to being one of the worst culprits for this , also I would never advocate for violence or threats .
Let’s be honest he has been here 25 years and 3 people protest every couple of months if it’s not raining about their tenure .
Add to that the extortionate ticket prices , we just pay it , no real protest .
The seniors discount again no real protest

Levy knows we will do feck all no matter what he does and tramples over the fan base accordingly.

Do you think we should just stick with Ange regardless of how shit things get. Or is there a cut off point. If so, give an example where the cut off point would be.
Not having a pop, mate. Just trying to understand the thought process of those who think we should keep him.
After all, he's had 1 and a third seasons and performances are generally declining rather than improving.

If you mean this season then no, to get who? We would just be with Ryan Mason again. Maybe our manager is mid table but so is our squad and the ones who aren’t can’t stay fit. For the past 5-6 years we play shit 50% of games but we always had Kane to save us, we don’t have that now, Kane is probably 15-20 points per season for us and he is gone. We now have an ok when fit (which is often never) first 11 and a bunch of kids. Perhaps we get a more pragmatic manager and end up 6th instead of 7th or 8th but this is where we are now. We don’t have any Salah’s, Van Dijk’s, Saka’s or that level, the closest might be Kulusevski.

Buy out Thomas Franks contract at Brentford. He knows the prem and what he has done at Brentford on a limited budget and the style of football they play, makes him the perfect fit for me.

In May 2014 Poch was a hipster choice. Ange was the quintessential hipster choice. I dont find many if any of the names mentioned particulaly exciting but who knows.

the celtic manager was the hispters choice? no he wasnt, many never heard of him, and once they did they didn't want him. Slot was the hipsters choice

regardless if Iraola was given the job he'd be in the exact same predicament if not worse right now. both our centre backs missing, both our strikers missing, our wing depth missing, bentancur missing. a win away followed by a draw at home and the world has ended and everyone is shit. What manager is going to be good enough really
Levy has trained you all well to love a good sacking and hiring process

Its exactly that reason Postecoglou was the hipsters choice, excitably citing his record in Australia and Japan getting breathless over Angeball. Linked to the Brighton job previously. It was a hipsters dream.

Its not a home draw yesterday. Its 13 months of mediocre results and bar 4 or 5 exceptions performances as well.

They’re a long ball team mostly or atleast play on the counter. Maybe does suit our forward options at the moment although don’t think that’s where we’re looking to go or most of the fans want to go. We need better quality up front.

when Brentford came to our ground it looked like he tried to play out around our press(maybe to prove he’s more flexible) but they weren’t good enough and kept on getting caught. Not convinced by him at all. Our fan base would pull him apart fairly quickly.

We’ve had tactical managers, we’ve had experienced managers, we’ve had young managers, we’ve had defensive managers, attacking managers

It makes no difference

You know what we haven’t had???

Women managers. Its time to break that glass ceiling.

A bit of a left field choice but she’s available and I think Taylor Swift would approve.

Make it happen Danny Boy.

I’m all in.

I think as long as he stays in the Cups he'll be fine.

well i guess we recall things differently. I recall alot of anger that we were screwed up slot and nagelsmann before hand for a guy no one had heard of. wasn't until the board was flooded with celtic supporters that some came around to the idea of the appointment
