Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So if those players are fitter, surely they should be more resilient and able to thrive in intense training regimens?

Btw I have a very similar MSc to those coaches mate so I'm not just talking out of my arse. And let's get this straight, it could be something about the training causing the injuries but we absolutely can't say that from the information we have. If more information becomes available to back it up then fine but for now, it's 100% narrative alone.

It’s been stated Ange in the past does 1hr training sessions where the breaks are minimal. Straight from 1 drill into another with hardly any down time so players get used to the intensity required on the pitch.

Players breaking down so regularly in training would seem to indicate something is going on that is causing this.

Time will tell anyway.

Abilities and fitness I get, but are premier league footballers bodies made of different stuff to other footballers? Or is muscle tissue still muscle tissue? 😅

I’ve been lucky enough to meet with managers and ex players over the years. They all say the same. The Premier league is just on a different level. The pace of the game for one thing.

There is a physicality in English football that is not seen in other top leagues.

Add to that the training practices bought here by the Italians, Wenger etc and then people like Poch, Klopp etc and you get footballers who are stronger / fitter than their counterparts.

It’s a very “tough” league.

Nah.

For where we are now, must be prem-experienced.

Frank
Iraola
Silva
Potter
Howe

Outside punt: McKenna

Bring Harry in for rest of season.

Mason booted end of season to complete clearout for new manager to come in with total clean slate.

1st season goal of qualifying for europe.
To be honest it's just because he's available right now and I want Ange to go.

Iraola is the one who I would go and get.

Ignoring the (completely unwarranted) personal abuse - who do you think comes in to improve us instantly, who is available? Genuine question.
Anyone that has any kind of tactical knowledge for a start. 😅

It is not going to get much better than the last 18 months under Ange with Ange. This is his limit and best he’s got and it’s been found out. The evidence is that it’s going to continue like this. Keeping someone that has no other plan is asking for us to plummet down the table.

We’ve conceded the first goal at home in 15 matches in 2024. We’ve lost 15 games in 2024. We’ve conceded 100 goals under him. His training and match intestity is breaking players.

He looks absolutely forlorn on the sidelines like he can’t believe the same shit keeps happening and actively says stupid shit like he won’t adjust tactically, won’t make subs to change the game, doesn’t want to get a result if it isn’t earned. We’ve not won at home for almost 2 months. His main experience is in leagues ranked 26th and 43rd in the world.

Yeah, let’s keep him. 😅

it's not narrative, it's simple logic

There are countless examples of injuries occurring for other teams due to excessive training and old fashioned fitness models.

Just look at previous Chelsea and United teams as well as late Poch. You can't just say it's not true because you feel like it. Overtraining and oversprinting during games leads to muscle injuries.

Do you remember when we had people saying that we were cherry picking stats by only choosing the games since the Chelsea game last year to highlight the poor form, trying to make out that the most recent form is never the most important, even when it's over 30 league games long. It was only a few months ago this was happening. Where have they all gone? That poor form has actually continued and is now even worse, and apparently now the excuse is fatigue and injuries.

I still see people defending him, It is beyond demented at this stage. I'm convinced some people will see Ange take us down, or at the very least until we are deep in a relegation battle, before they decide they want him out.

Thankfully these people are in the minority.

He has to go tomorrow morning. If he doesn't, I'll be gutted.

It's reassuring to hear that ex players are actually saying Ange is gone out loud. Whether it's an opinion or they have heard something, there will now no doubt be people with a direct line into Levy voicing the same thing. It can't be long now. The board must really seriously be concerned we can get caught in battle at the bottom of the league if this continue for a few weeks longer, and with Woolwich and Newcastle coming up, it likely will.

If he's not gone by tomorrow then he's here for Newcastle, and we will 100% lose that. Isak will have a field day up against Gray and Radu. We are just throwing points away by keeping him.

You know my thoughts on Ange, mate - I'm not going to rehearse them again, so let's just say I'm far from convinced.

My feeling is the interesting candidates are all in employment at the moment and none of them would currently come to us. I don't feel comfortable with Mason again until the end of the season, I just don't see the point of it at this stage.

My feeling is about the same as it's been for the last few weeks - give Ange the cups and if we bomb out of one or both then sack him. I just feel to move right now is a bit pointless, unless the club have something really special up their sleeve (which I doubt).

The league season is a write off, or close to it, sadly.

Please tell me what exactly they have won recently, and are they actually serious contenders to win anything, despite "where they are" at this point in the season?
Come on! You're better than that.
My point was/is those clubs mentioned are performing better than we are with a "lesser" squad of players because they have managers who know how to manage what's in front of them.

We've tried pragmatic managers. Mourinho, Conte, Nuno.

Areta looked shit many times in his early years with Woolwich. Klopp was criticised a lot for Liverpool's inconsistency. They both improved only when they signed better players.

Ange has the right vision for the team and club, one that's aligned with Spurs traditions. He has won in multiple countries and proven his methods can work. But we need a Chairman who is sincere in wanting to win, and willing to do what that takes.
ange it's just not working out but really it's not you, it's us. yeah you're just too good for us mate.
