Who were the five choices before Postecoglou?
I love posts like this... here's your five... now stop thinking Ange was anything other than an after thought.

Slot didn't fancy it after speaking to Levy
Fonseca decided to stay at Lille
Naglesmann decided the German gig was better
Alonso turned us down to continue his Leverkusen project (good choice)
Amorin decided to stay in Portugal with Sporting who took 4 points off us in CL.

We're probably looking for someone that can play in goal as well as LB , CB , RW , LW and also able to fix the electric and plumbing

We've typed all of the above into the data tool and the dial up internet is currently being fired up
A plumber?

Have you gone mad?

Who the fuck can afford to hire a plumber on a permanent basis. What do you think this is, a Premier league football club?

There was talk about Tuchel as well soon after Conte left but Bayern jumped in quicker

The first 'ITK' has spoken - and to be fair Dragon1 (coys) did come up with some genuine ITK in past years - 'a young full international GK will be announced next week'.

No idea who though the 'full international' cuts out Trafford at Burnley and Patterson at Sunderland as both are E u21 who could have been contenders.

But if ITK is correct, its one position dealt with !
Joe Gauci (Villa #2 GK) maybe? 24yo, 6 caps for Australia.

Son is finished
Werner is shit
Odobert is a total unknown
Who am I missing that makes us over stocked there?

We are well stocked at LWF, and have been incredibly unlucky with injuries. And Son is subsequently overplayed and bang out of form. When he was playing 60 minutes once a week (as he started the season doing) he was fine. Werner is crap - I'll give you that. Odobert has incredible potential and is far better on the left - a proper 'dribbly' winger who can go past multiple defenders off either foot. A real shame he got injured before he really got a chance. Moore is also best on the left. I'd say we are weaker at RW as Kulusevski is showing he is better in the CAM/CM, Johnson is one dimensional (and needs good crosses from the left - which have totally dried up with Son never trying to go past his man on the outside).

I'd actually like to see Ange experiment a bit more and try playing Maddison on the RW, or even putting Son out on that side and telling him to beat his man and whip crosses in. Worth noting that so far, Richy has probably been our most effective LWF under Ange, and he returns next week form injury. Whilst I do not think Richy is a top class WF, he played 'Ange ball' the best, and understood the movement, passing angles, and pressing requirements. He also linked up very well with Udogie.

LW:
  • Odobert (injured)
  • Son (over played / out of form)
  • Moore (ill)
  • Richy (injured)
  • Werner (crap / lack of confidence)

RW;
  • Kulusevski (better in CM)
  • Johnson (one dimensional)
  • Yang (unknown quantity)

Nagelsmann wasn't in the frame for the Germany job at that time .

He was my number one pick but it was all quite odd. he was approached by Chelsea, looked close at their project and rightfully decided it was a terrible idea as he'd have no control over player incomings and outgoings.
Clear path for us, reports in Germany seemed like it was gonna happen . Then we randomly came out with a statement saying we admire him but we aren't interested
Nothing from Nagelsmann's camp, just our lot saying we have not intention to meet

Very odd, either the club for some bizarre reason weren't interested, maybe got wind of his Chelsea demands or we just had no plans to be too ambitious again and work at a much slower and cheaper pace with a guy who won't rock the boat

You also forgot Dezerbi from your list, supposedly turned us down too

Overrated. One good season at Frankfurt. Got his big move and like many a Frenchman... downed tools. He will be another Ndombele.
Im not sure that's what happened PSG is a weird star chamber. RKM isn't that guy. I think he's not a fit for a club like that. The loan might be the way to kick his tires. For me Spurs have to be in for one of Mbeumo or Marmoush, Liverpool can't buy both and we need to go big for the other

Slot did fancy it, we just wouldn’t pay the release clause.

Hmm we need to fact check some of these.

Levy & Lewis didn't want to pay the release fee Feyenoord (rightly) demanded. Liverpool, however, paid the release fee...
I am sure Slot right now is happy that L & L were so skint.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣show us all the proof that those 5 turned us down. You’ve just made that up to make a false point.

I think it's far too early to say Odobert or Moore are going to make an impact. We just don’t know.
Son is no more than an impact sub IMO. He has less of an impact on games outside of the odd goal contribution than either Werner or Johnson.
To clarify this, I mean he's often so anonymous that he's not affecting the way the game is being played at all.
The other 2 at least stay busy running at the opposition and give them something to think about.

Kinda reminds me of Ronaldo at United. Outside of his goals there were arguments the team was worse with him in it.
Except that one game where he beat us 3-2 on his own
