It's very likely we will lose this by 5 or 6 goals to be honest. Not having a back 4 or a keeper isn't great - but I'm sure we can just all blaim the coach.

On a serious note ow many do we need to have out till we postpone it?
Them lot did it and I remember going to Burnley when they had a couple of injuries and suspensions, it starts snowing and someone forgets to turn the under soil heating system on.

There are no free hits, but nobody can realistically read too much into a loss here.

I'm just hoping this game marks the low tide mark of our season and we come home with a wet sail in May.

Mind you, if we get off on a good tack today and jag an early goal, then maybe we can reef the mainsail, drop anchor and batten down the hatches.

My feeling is such that my finger is seriously trigger-happy to go Isak captain in fantasy. Something I would never have thought, I would even consider, against us. How's that for expecting the absolute worst :ange-blow:

Seems like it will be

[LINEUP]Austin
Porro Bissouma Dorrington Spence
Sarr
Bergvall Kulusevski
Johnson Solanke Son[/LINEUP]

Bench:
Whiteman, Reguilon, King, Hall, Williams-Barnet, Hardy, Werner, Olusesi, Lanskhear

If I manage to predict that correctly including the bench I'm buying a lottery ticket, and a bottle of scotch to numb the pain.

Is Gray out ? Forster ?

Imagine being Reguilon sat on that bench unable to get into that team, thinking back on making his Real Madrid debut in his early 20's!

7-0 vs Liverpool in Sep 1978. Ange might get on the record books :ange-facepalm:

Edit: Also lost 7-1 to Newcastle, of all teams, in Dec 1996 :ange-blow:

That was away though with Ian Walker in goal. Shearer ran us ragged that day.

Today, without coming over “all Ange”, I think attack will be the best form of defence. That or kicking the shit out of them and time wasting for 90 minutes. I know which we will do though.

I captained Salah against us a few weeks back. 42 points he got me. With how Ange sets us up it’s crazy not to captain the best forwards against us. It’s who we are mate

Who else seriously looked at GLC? N'dombele? Part of me wonders if we fear having to compete for signings because of the obvious implication that has on wages paid to said player in question, but targeting players who no one else is really seriously interested in because they're easier to sign is surely an arse-backwards way of approaching the market?
You don’t need to wonder about it. You've nailed it. It's exactly how we've operated for years.

You, I and everyone else on here would have been on our highest of horses had we signed a Man City reserve for £30m. It does you no credit to not admit this.

And no, I don’t think we improve our scouting by looking at signings our rivals have made. They play different systems, with different players, coaches and manager. Palmer and Isak may have set the world alight here, but no guarantees. So we are trying to improve scouting by considering what might have happened? Ndombele could have signed for City and won the Balon d’Or. We’ll never know.

To be honest, I’ve no idea what our scouting structure or strategy is and even if I did, I’d probably have no clue how to improve it. But I know that using hindsight in this manner wouldn’t.
True but the eye test tells us that isak and palmer are quality players same for Gordon. The latter looks far more dangerous than any of our wide players.

Looks like they're just pointing out that their calls for the Newcastle fixture to be reverted to Cat B are seemingly valid judging by the ticket sales (or lack of)

Good on them!

Anything that highlights the heinous greed of the club hierarchy is a good thing, surely?

Certainly nothing to be scoffed at
