hes not quick enough to try and dribble forward as much as he does. needs to vary his game up, its very predictable for defenders a lot of the time as hes too direct. doesnt have the pace to leave players behind so needs to wise up.

Thought he was pathetic tonight , looked like he was running with a donkey on his back , clumsy with his challenges and so slow with decision making . If we stay up we need 2 new wide players that can actually take on your full backs .
Another shit game from our 'player of the season' . He's not good enough or consistent enough, has the very occasional good game and then produces a load of wank. Can't hold it up, no pace, can't tackle, end product missing most of the time.
Don't play him as an 8 Ange and get someone who can play RWF who isn't Johnson ....these pair are killing us when we attack.

Fucking over rated and people keep insisting he's a captain material.If playing him as the 8, then ffs stop him from drifting to the wings, so Johnson and Porro can fucking cross instead of always playing those useless short passes to him who will evaporate our attacks.
He probably has no idea what his roles are. And neither does Ange I think. And that's horrible for someone so arbitrary to be playing full 90 minutes in so many games and yielded nothing. Granted he may not be directly the one costing us games, but being so ineffective he's indirectly hampering us, knowing how much he could value add when he's really on top of his game with simple games and defined roles.
Start him from the bench, he has more impact. Probably same as Son. Frustrating.
He has a habit of waiting for the ball to reach him as opposed to him going towards the ball and it’s so easy to read for a defender. Than once he’s lost it he can’t be bothered to track back and win it back. If he’s our best player you know we’re in trouble.

I agree. I don’t get the tired bit either. And as you say he was rested on Sunday. He can have good games but he is slow, clumsy and very wasteful at times. We have many problems in this team and he may not be the biggest of those but let’s not pretend he is world class like some on here do.
