Different managers have different approaches when it comes to intensity and training methods. Do you not remember the criticism Conte came in for when he ran the players to death on that pre-season tour. He was luckier with injuries than Ange.

You don't compromise your approach if your a manager. Look at Klopp with his heavy metal football. If a reporter had asked him "Jurgen would you temper your heavy metal football to protect the players from injury" I wager he would have laughed.

None of the ones who win major honours do at least.

We have injuries this year for a mix of reasons.

Bad luck with Vicario. We also added an extra competition with the EL but slashed the wage by by 30m so our squad got smaller but still expected to compete in more competitions.

And also, we clearly have issues with rehabbing players because so many of them have broken down as soon as they return.

Ange has said honestly that players who aren't used to the intensity pick up muscle injuries at first whilst their body adjusts but they should be less injury prone from then onwards. The strange thing is that it hasn't worked that way this time.

Wouldn’t bother with questions like this. Most of them support other teams so the more disruption the better
Were you there in Galatasary a couple of months ago, when we were getting taught a footballing lesson?

I was fella, and it cost me a shed load of money for the privilege.

I do not support another team and I find it quite insulting that you even suggest that, about a large amount of posters who may have a different point of view to you.

Bmouth manager going to places like toon and chavs getting results. Something our muppet could only dream of.
If we lose to Everton he should defo be sacked and not too late. I’d rather have mason with say Harry helping him till end of season. Then go get ariola.

The non selection of Maddison - again - is fucking baffling. Whatever people perceive his weaknesses, he is our most productive and creative (in midfield and forward areas) player but also really important when trying to play through pressure - he drops in, can twist and turn and usually makes the best passing decisions. He was on the pitch 45 fucking minutes less than Kulusevski (who played 45 as an 8 as well) and completed 5 more passes than him. Not that he did anything spunktastic but at least he didn't constantly spunk away the ball like Kulusevski did/does.

That said, Kulusevski is more useful that Johnson who's literally got one play in the playbook and it isn't likely to work very well Arse.

The half time subs were just a stupid overreaction and tactically daft. We were only one goal behind, we didn't have to go full twat. Just tweak it. Maddison on for Sarr and keep Bergval as the other 8, would have meant Bergval could do his running thing at the defence, not trying to break out of our defence, and we would have the ability to move the ball through both sides, with two lateral 8's comfortable receiving the ball and able to look forwards and join attacks too.

The next sub should have been Moore - someone that can dribble and take players on and turn them round for Son or Kulusevski. Then Rich for Solanke.

Putting Kukusevski back into midfield and Johnson on the right improved nothing creatively, left Bergval all on his own in midfield and opened the game right up for Woolwich on the counter.

Other shit that is really starting to annoy me is players just not busting their balls to get back into defensive shape, track runners etc when they lose the fucking ball in forward areas. And this is on them but also on Ange who has to coach this as his system exposes defensive transitions as it is.
Spot on although Ange could go mad on the touch line at the players if not busting a gut or seeing they are too passive. He says that after the game but why not address it at the time. We could all see first 20 mins we didn’t get near them so surely he could have barked out some instructions or gesticulated at the players.

The saddest thing about our situation right now, is I felt nothing losing tonight. It's been pure apathy and it's been like that for months.

I know we are shit, and so when we win, like when we beat City, and I said it at the time, I couldn't properly celebrate it because I knew it was just a one off freak result. I think United away was the last game we won where I properly thought maybe I was wrong and something good could happen this season, as it was still early enough in the season. Winning games when you know you aren't a good side and won't achieve anything is the most hollow feeling. When Poch was here, I used to be so pumped for every game because I knew we had big things riding on it. Top 4, a title challenge, what amazing feelins. Under Ange I feel nothing. I feel nothing about losing to Woolwich tonight, just anger and sadness that Ange is still here.

It's honestly got to the point that I think it is actually best for the club if we get battered on Sunday 4 nil, so that Ange is 100% sacked, and we can move on and install an emergency manager.

It's desperate times, but this is the situation we are in. I have no idea who comes in. But I'd be moving heaven and earth for Iraola in the summer. In the meantime, we need to bring someone in to get enough points on the board to escape any relegation fears.

We simply canno continue with Ange. If people think VDV and Romero will sort us out they are deluded. Gray has been one of our best players, so replacing him isn't going to change our fortunes that much. The issues are everywhere else in the pitch and in the dugout.
Spot on but we have too many in denial or are just Ange fanbois.

But VDV sprinting back constantly and have to make sliding tackles is not helping is it? Udogie hammer, odebert reaction to the style possibly. Forwards are less likely to reach stretch and slide etc. We had a lot of injury problems last year when Ange actually complained we werent playing enough games. So has to be something there in what were doing

It's not helping but it also has barely happened this season at all.... like barely.

Most of our injuries last season weren't hammys either if I remember correctly.

Who knows.... most likely it's heavy schedules and lack of rest especially with how much int. Football there is too

Its not just hammys with high intensity playing and training. Any muscle injury quads, groins calves etc.
