Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am sick of this attitude. Son has given everything to this club. Should he be captain? NO! Does he play bad? YES! Is it ok to boo him? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT!!

Do we want to create an enviroment where the only way to become a legend is to be hit by a bus at the peak of your career?

Son gave his best years to us, he scored a goal vs Villa with a broken arm, played through most of a season with a hernia because we needed him, threw off his protective mask because it hindered him, yet people call him weak. It's not his fault that he has to play more than his body can take, or that he got offered a new contract.

Every supporter that boo him deserves a punch in the face.

I posted something about Sonny a few weeks ago (I think it was Simon Jordan) say Sonny's been playing thru injuries. He's turning 33 this summer so it's natural for him to be past his best now.
He's a club legend though and should be treated with respect.
As can be seen form this video, Spurs really have some disgusting morons supporting the club whom I rather see support Woolwich...

Hear it get said that we’ve got great away fans. Not from my experience. Went to the Palace away game and it was full of either annoying, clueless football expert types or real abusive stuff towards our players all game, also saw some of our fans treat the palace staff working in the away end really disrespectfully. Even when we’ve played better and won we seem to spend most of the game/songs mocking the other team/fans.

We’re a very negative fan base in the ground. ENIC has a lot to do with that imo as I don’t remember it being like that 15-20 years ago.

Cracking post mate.

It's something that is foreign to me, so i try and not pass judgement. I try to understand.

I didn't like it when the crowd booed Emerson coming on, same with the fans that threw abuse at Palace, and again today. I know people pay good money, and they travel, and they buy merch etc etc. I also think alcohol plays a big part and social media now means everything is in the spotlight.

As to Son specifically, people misunderstand emotion with weakness.

we all know his strengths and weaknesses but the trouble is his main strength (running with the ball ) has gone, so what is he left with ?
trouble is it looks like he's played to encourage the Tourists to our Mega-store on match day, as many have said you see them leaving the ground with bags of stuff (so Levy's happy) £100's on seats & £400-500 spent in the shop
That's not how it should be ending for a good player

Not a good video to watch, although it just seemed to be those around the mic we could hear at the point. I guess the away fans have spent hours and hours getting there, as well as good money and for those brief moments have a target for their anger when the players come over with the backroom staff. Not an excuse, but just can see how it is like a pressure relief valve.

Truth is, the captains arm band is weighing Son down, he should never have been made captain. Did we ever see anything in his character over the years to suggest he would make a leader, a battler, someone who would put his neck on the line when needed ? Whether the captaincy was given for commercial reasons or as a reward for loyalty doesn't really matter, if the cap doesn't fit there is no point.

I feel sorry for him, being overplayed and remaining on the pitch while others have been subbed off has been a pattern this Season. We can all see it, even more so at the games where you get to see more of his demeanour and fitness level, than the TV shows.

At this point if an offer did come in, I think it would be better for Son in himself to make a move. I just don't think all this negativity is good for him, he just isn't that person to absorb it, I feel.

My only issue with Son as a captain is that he’s a good human being in a league that doesn’t have any respect for values.

First half penalty not given is the perfect example. Clearly fouled but didn’t sell it. If he was a cheat like the players and clubs that get penalties week in week out, he’d have got the whistle.

In this league you need a nastier side to be a captain.

finishing?

I specifically stated at the the time it was announced I thought him being made captain was a totally bizarre decision and it has been proven to be even worse then I thought it would be ( that vid was pathetic btw..was he fucking crying?).

The fans turning on him is the managers fault though. Constantly picking him whilst being in absolutely shit form and not even trying something else just looked like he had special privileges (along with Romero who could make a mistake every game with no consequences) and those will always be the ones the fans turn on first when things have gone to shit. Maddison had those privileges as well at the back end of last season until he had a full blown argument with Ange resulting in him being a bit part player when he's actually delivering a good goal/assist return.

The situation with Son is a sad one. Legend of the club, great guy but slowing down and playing in a system where he needs to be a winger. Unless we get a manager who plays a second striker role where he can drift around the box I don’t see a good future. It’s coming to an end. You only have to look at how young 17 year old Mikey Moore replacing him changed our attack.

It's a sad indictment on Ange, but he rather chooses to prioritise his own tactics and has favourites in the team, irrespective of form.
As you said, he's an in the box player, in which he needs to play off a striker. Solanke is more than capable of supporting Son in that role.
Another example is Porro inverting into midfield, he's clearly a Wingback, and has had to track back too much.

Spot on

Blokes a legend and the fact that we are asking him to do something it's been evident his body has been struggling to do for a year now 3 times a week with no one to rotate with him is not his fault.

Sonny will be regarded as a legend but bless the guy he's legs are done - I honestly think if he retired after next year he can at least finally look for a girlfriend & start a family with his wages being paid by all of his other businesses.

Son deserves the benefit of the doubt here.

He could have grown old over night about a year ago, but it is much likelier that his drop in output has something to do with the clown manager that is Ange.

If you use logic, and see that player after player are performing worse under the coach, you may think that the coach is the problem.

The whole team is fucking wank. But you don't blame it on the players. You sack the manager.

Son is just a player in the squad mismanaged by Ange. It's a wonder he hasn't been injured yet, despite his age.

Look at young Micky's legs. This fucking manager told the medical team upon his arrival that they should be prepared for many hamstring injuries. He fucking knew it. He gives no fuck about the players. He's running them all into the ground.

Now even Solanke and BJ are injured. Son is the only guy standing. Don't tell me that HIS legs are gone.

And I don't think that the people wanting Son gone are racist. I just think that they don't get what a player he's been. If you don't know shit about football, you can't see it. But a player of Son's quality is not done at 32. That whole idea is laughable. Every world class player adopt their game as they get older. Their managers adopt it too, because they know what the creativity and ability to finish is worth. That's what you pay for. Not flair, not tap ins.

But you run your players into the ground and you clearly won't get the best out of them.

Isn't it funny how many talked about how Solanke had to start every game and it affected him. Kane did that every season and nobody said anything. And now Solanke's legs have had too much.

But because Son happens to be 32, you point to his legs. You're like a broken clock. Written it for years. Of course eventually you will be right but it's the same nonsense. You guys don't know shit about football. You think that 32 is a high age in football. It really isn't, if the manager is of normal intelligence.

Not always true the top part. Some players sometimes just can't adapt plenty of world class forwards and defenders in history have lost that yard or two of pace and just never been the same.

Sometimes it's not even just the pace it's the power in the legs not letting them strike a ball like they used to.

I do think Sons not being helped by the system or the fact he's playing 3 times a week but I also don't think you can deny his legs look like they are going.
